HEY! First and foremost...yes, my hair is black. I know, it's a shock...I'm still not used to it but hey, I'd been red for 9 years...it was time to do somethin' different. Love it or hate it, it's here to stay. (I love it actually)
Okay...so...what is new news? Let's see...currently the NEW Cabaret show I directed and choreographed (minus the tap number) is running in the West Village at The Duplex on Thursday nights at 9:30pm...all thru March...so get your butt on out to see it! It's called "Nab-A-Date", the world first (and only) musical dating show! It's REALLY FUN! We opened at The Reprise Room on Valentines Night to a sold out crowd! Other than that, TheatreRats is just now going into rehearsals for our next show, a French Farce called "King O'Neil" written by Catherine Gore in the 1800's. She's British so you know it's funny (that's for Rachel...). Anyhoo...we'll get more to you on that as it develops...we're juuust starting rehearsals so...stay tuned!
What else? I finished my book...finally. Woot! 600 page Science Fiction novel...now I have to do the hard part...sell it. Fingers crossed! I'm really proud of it and those who have read it so far are really really enjoying it so...I musta done something right! :)
Have a vacation on the horizon to Boston and Salem...in May after "O'Neil" closes and before I Stage Manage the new Off Bway Musical "The Bellevue Sketches" in June. Gonna go visit the place I mention in my book...online research only can do so much for ya!
Anyways...
I'm still livin' in Inwood...that's the top of Manhattan. (We lovingly refer to it as Upstate Manhattan.) It's been cold so the neighborhood has been quiet...but soon the temp will go up and the streets will be alive again...it's funny...in August I just wish they'd all go home and sleep...but by March...they've all been so quiet all winter I want to hear them again...I know, I have issues. ;)
Over all...I'm a happy, busy, gal in NYC who's just trying to enjoy life here, there, and everywhere...while producing GREAT theatre and hanging with friends from all over the US when I can. Love you all (my friends that is)! You make me who I am and being as I think I'm okay...you must be too. ;)
