About Me

okay, I guess I can no longer deny the need to change my profile on here!! Jeeze, when I set this profile up as a total JOKE years ago there was NO ONE on myspace! but now that it seems the entire world is myspacin it, I'd better get a real profile up, before my grandparents think i'm actually into torture! (but I think I'll keep the Rainbow Bright background, she still suits me!) I am a completely different person now anyway...well, except I'm still incredibly smart and beautiful and funny, and also still looking for Mr Right--okay, maybe I'm still the same person, but I'M A MOMMY!!!!!I can't belive it either! And so now Mommyhood seems to be all I really care about. No more volunteering, no more taking in countless numbers of homeless foster pets, no more World Affairs Council, and I've drastically cut down on the political activism...(we're down to one weekly meeting where Jade Marie is the star attendee) I am also down to just one 18 pound kitty (Joey) and one Great Dane (Julius)in a new home in a new town (that would be my tiny condo- aka my treehouse- in The Woodlands. Had to sell the 3 bedroom house in Houston and everything in it, PLUS my beloved convertible del sol, in order to afford to keep the baby since her daddy isn't supporting her...or living in the country for that matter. I affectionately call Jade Marie my Jungle Love Child...her daddy was my jungle tour guide in Belize. And yes, it was definatley the best tour I've ever had.

My Interests

Jade Marie.

I'd like to meet:

Jesus. And Buddah. And Mother Theresa. ah what the hell, Adam Sandler too. Ok, ok, Johnny Depp can come along. And where the hell is MR. RIGHT??????

Music:

Folk, blues, americana, etc. Just please dont play me any techno or electronica (really people, that is NOT music) or that Brittany Spears genre whatever its called and all that goes with it. The popular music these days generally blows. But the 80's, well, nothing can touch the 80's. Some things are simply sacred.

Movies:

Pirates of the Caribbean. Pulp Fiction and Amelie, as well as Parenthood and Pretty Woman are all faves. Anything with Johnny Depp or Adam Sandler is well worn in my collection.

Television:

Kill your TV, it is evil. E-V-I-L.

Books:

Baby Books, the soft ones that make crinkly noises when you touch them. The Happies Baby on The Block, and The Baby Book by Dr Sears. I USED TO dig classics (Ayn Rand and Aldous Huxley), stories based on real events/people (Irving Stone and Edward Abbey), and some occasional mind candy (Harry Potter and Oprah Books). The Economist (weekly British news mag)has been replaced by Baby Talk magazine.

Heroes:

My grandparents, Wonder Woman, Darth Vader and Jade Marie.

My Blog

I feel so violated....

So here I am, working VERY hard at my desk, listening to NPR and a nice poem about the snow, when I decide to finally find out exactly what those 47 eskimo words are. It has always struck me how vocab...

VD Day aka Black Monday

Well, since my dear friend Mark has taken down his anti-Valentines Day blog (pussy) then I guess I'll have to write my own. I always try really really hard to warm up to Valentines Day. I love holiday...

Will she rob them of this?

Can you imagine what it must be like to go through life without the gift of vision? I can't imagine a worse sense to lose, not being able to soak in all the colors of the rainbow. Not being able to wa...

Ode to Blue

I buried my friend this morning. It was a nice funeral. My parents attended and hummed the funeral song while I laid Blue down in his grave and covered him with the soft earth. They then gave him a 21...
