About Me

BIOGRAPHY: Low Key was born and raised in Queens New York by his two West Indian Parents from the Island of Trinidad and Tobaggo. He was born the only boy along with three sisters. During the early 80's Low's father would often play classic vinyl hits that would have him engulfed by the rthymn. In addition to his fathers influence, Low's mother would often sing hymns throughout the house while doing daily chores. This environment would ultimately create the artistic talent which was hidden deep within his mind. High School gave birth to the name "Low Key" due to his laid back demenor. Many times Low would isolate himself from the world by listening to artsit such as Nas and A Tribe Called Quest while drawing in his sketch book. In the fall of 2003, Low lost his childhood friend due to a sudden heart attack and vowed to appreciate each passing day by pursing his love for music. Low would later link up with a friend and future manager " Ant" in order to take advantage of the loop holes in the music industry. He is extremely humble yet confident the world will embrace his sound.

My Interests

Music:

Influences:

I'm heavily influenced by the sounds of the decades before me, which can stretch as far back as classical composures such as, Strauss,Chopin,Vivaldi,Handel, and Tehaikovsky. Saying that I love music is such a cliche these days, which is why I say I am music. While many people use this art form as just another hustle to become a superstar, I use it as a form of therapy. As simplistic as my mission may seem, I intend to tell the truth as I know it through song without letting the world or the majors dictate my approach. I love music with or without the commercial success, and if I should succeed many people will succeed with me because I can't do it alone. Special Thanks to the people behind the scene: My manager Anthony for encouraging me to persue my career in music, Rocky for the amazing original beats sent from VA, Gavin for designing my very first mixtape cover, Ryan for being available to take my pictures during crazy hours in the night, DJ JCNY for putting his touch on the mixtape, Carlethea as well as Mike for working on my old myspace account for me, Yonas and Dre Don for allowing me to record at their homes, Dre Don again for his original beats, and my sister Keisha for helping me with my bio. Last but not least I need to thank God for giving me good health and wisdom throughout the years, and my family, friends and kids for helping things make sense. If I missed anyone please forgive me I can always update. Peace! One other thing...look out for some new recordings from me and producer Modoe from Queens. I promise that the near future will be one to look foward to. :

Sounds Like:

I don't believe that I sound like anyone in particular, but I'll leave that to the people to decide. I do know that I aim to improve with each project and hope to bring a variety of energy. What you see is what you get with no gimmics. This is my life and the thoughts within my mind. My music at times is like a public diary at your disposal. So if your here for the love of music or just mere curiosity, I hope you appreciate the thought and time that was put into each recording. :

New Year...New Grind!

A new year is here and it's funny how most of us need a lit ball in Times Square just to rejuvenate our souls. Well I'm guilty of the same thing, but what really matters is whether or not we...

R.I.P Nissim Ali Mack ...

The reality of life couldn't be more real since your passing in September of two thousand and three. It's funny how everything that has happened in my life since then still makes me think of you....
