Animal Awareness

About Me

This page is designed to raise awareness, spread the word & uncover some of the truths about animals; factory farming in the UK, hunting, animal testing & cruelty. Raising awareness is the first step to making people contemplate whether they agree or not with the truth. Then it is there own choice to decide whether to make a change or not.. Please read on...
FOX HUNTING...> More than 200,000 people still take part in fox hunting in the UK alone. The savage cruelty to innocent foxes; via the hands of hunters & their trained dog’s results in a death toll of an estimated 13,000 foxes & 6,000 fox cubs each year. To the hunters this is seen as a tradition, entertainment, a sport....
Unlike other sports, for the foxes their savage torture & death is the result.
PIGS...> Nearly a billion pigs in Britain are locked in iron farrowing crates, mainly in dingy, horrid conditions, sometimes in total darkness, with no room to move & with such discomfort and stress that they resolve to chewing the bars of their cage (a sign of mental breakdown from an otherwise intelligent animal)
Contrary to the image portrayed by the Government & British pig industry, these pigs will never see any bedding and spend their lives on filthy, damp concrete. Diseases are common and therfore so is the use of drugs and antibiotics. The use of such drugs to control disease has led to a string of lethal super bugs in the past that can threaten all of us.
COWS...> Cattle that are reared for milk production are made to suffer (just like animals reared for meat) They suffer from weakness, mastitis (inflammation of the udders) and other diseases– worst of all – they have their calves taken away from them, usually only a day after the birth so that humans can drink their milk instead.
Cows do not produce milk automatically: like every other animal, (including us), they only produce milk to nurse their calves. Male dairy calves, (worthless to the dairy industry) are usually shot at birth.

Some of the vivisection information & pictures I added to this page, about monkeys being kidnapped for lab testing was deleted by myspace for being 'un-viewable'.. Animal cruelty is world wide, see some of the myspace pages in top freinds for more information. Here is just a little bit of overseas info...
SEAL HUNTING...> Over the past three years, nearly one million seals have been killed. The current kill levels are higher than they have been in half a century. During the 2006 hunt, the Canadian government allowed fishermen to club and shoot at least 354,344 seals. The last time seals were killed at this rate—in the 1950s and '60s—the harp seal population was reduced by nearly two thirds.
The method of execution is simple. The seals get cracked on the head with a bat. They are then robbed of their skin, so people can have the luxury of fur coats & carpets ..
Sea Shepherd is an enforcement group up-holding the rights of the oceans natural life. Lead by Captain Paul Watson for over 20 years, the vessel 'Sea Shepherd' & its ever growing supporters patrol the seas & take the law in to their own hands (where the U.S & Canadian government seem to lack enthusiasm) The Sea Shepherd’s are constantly fighting a battle to protect; confronting seal hunters, filming illegal hunting activities, ramming whaling vessels & protecting the beautiful natural life of our planets ocean.
