ABOUT US
The DOT.TUNES team is a tight group of professional musicians, software developers and music lovers who thrive on getting things done as simply and effectively as possible. Like most great inventions, DOT.TUNES was borne out of necessity when our producers asked: How can I get my original compositions and works-in-progress to my collaborators?
There were available options, but they all had setbacks. E-mail inboxes had limited capacity. Instant message transfers were great for one-on-one situations, but what about when a project called for multiple participants? Private servers required payment. Free servers requested that you jump through hoops. Everything was too time-consuming. It broke the rhythm of the creative process.
So our producers rephrased the question: How can I get my original compositions and works-in-progress to my collaborators quickly and easily?
Our software developers have never encountered a technological challenge they weren't willing to tackle. They began coding and came up with DOT.TUNES. The solution was as simple as could be: A web-based application that allows you and pre-assigned users access your music from any Internet connection.
Then our music lovers stepped up. They demanded the service become easier and leaner while staying out of the way of third-party applications like Libra and JewelCase. They wanted access from mobile phones, even.
Not to be left out, our producers came back and said they wanted more functionality, more controls, more more.
And so it went. And so it continues.
DOT.TUNES now exists as a collaboration between the original group of developers in Australia and a small band of nit-pickers in New York City who are constantly fiddling with form, forum and function to make what is already the most powerful application of its kind even stronger.
The latest incarnation of DOT.TUNES does more than work with iTunes files. It also gives you access to any of the files on your computer from any internet connection. And just to keep our music producers in the groove, we've included robust features such as RSS feeds and podcasting.
But we're not done yet. Our developers love challenges. They turn obstacles into accomplishments just, well, because. If you have any suggestions on how we can make DOT.TUNES even better drop us an email or stop by our forums .
We welcome the opportunity.
