Re emerging from the shadows after years of music business recluse, the elusive Glaswegian makes some of his demos available to the baying throng. A veteran of dance terrorists TAB 11.36 and industrial noiseniks Shail (aka Fivefold Kiss), Marko's low key, low fi sampledelic Glaswegian vodka driven Hip Slop has been recorded over the last 6 years and is only now seeing the light of day. Brought back into music djing for the likes of Fatmonkey (now Juno!) and the Anchor Club, his first forray back into music making was a cover of "Down the Drain" for a Jazz Butcher tribute CD. The Butcher himself, Pat Fish, commented "Just wanted to drop you a line now that I've heard your version of "Drain" on that there "tribute" record.I think it's one of the best things on the whole record. So there.(It may just be an accent thing, but it reminds me of the JAMMS in a big way, which for me is A Good Thing.)
Mad as a sack of Teletubbies. Eiders poisoned folk song reborn as a KLF demo with DJ Shadow. There is no way that I was not going to love this, and deed I do. Westside!" Inspired by this, and by the recent breakdown of a short lived love affair, Marko produced in quick succession the "Mockadelica" and heartbreaking "Blue Album" cds. Neither left the mixing desk, with only a handful of cds making it out to friends. After the aborted "Durty album" collaboration with Matt the Hat Kerr, the recorded in a day concept album "Van Haddock Hotel",The Beach Boys sample collage "Petulant Sounds" and the Elliott Smith covers EP (all unreleased), songs are starting to see the light of day. Marko is rumoured to be back behind the sampler, a construction of Louie Louie taking shape as we speak. So have a wee listen to a couple of the songs," somebody" - a reworking of a Rae and Christian/ Kate Rogers song, "Armageddon" - a sleazy samplefest, "Hometime" - an emotional car crash, "To catch a fish" - a fight with Xena, Warrior Princess. He will be back, and as usual it's personal.
