A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY.......
Ricky Ric has spent most of his life in the music industry starting with formal drum and piano lessons at age 10.
He played in many bands of various types over the years. Eventually, he moved into writing, production, sound engineering, staging and DJ-ing as necessity dictated.
He interned with "Sound Recording Company", a classic well established recording studio in Spokane Washington. Next came his association with "Sound West Mobile Studios" in Salt Lake City Utah while at the same time he was the co-owner and head of production for "New Faces Roadhouse". New Faces was the intermountain west's largest live music / concert club in it's day. Musical groups like U2 (on their very first North American tour) graced the club's stage as well many other national and international acts.
A few years, cities and various road bands later, Ricky found himself in Seattle Washington during the pre-grundge and pre-Starbucks national franchise period. He worked and played with a variety of local groups "around the sound" for several years.
From Seattle, it was then North to Alaska where Ricky joined the high energy, world traveling dance act "Perfect Tommy" which would become a 11 year association. Perfect Tommy played endless dates in the USA and around the world in countries like Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Turkey, Spain, Italy and Greece just to name a few. He was a co-producer on Perfect Tommy's first dance album "Everything Has To Be Big". Everything Has To Be Big was produced and recorded in Vienna Austria with Austrian Producer Jack Fronczek at Hit Point Studios. The album was later released in Europe by Rams Horn Records (Holland), Dance Factory Records (Germany) and PT109 Records in the US.
On the heals of Perfect Tommy's first CD, Ricky Ric became the group's main producer. Soon the albums "Feel This", (which included the high energy dance club hit "Throw It On The Dance Floor" ) and the album "Lose Yourself" , (featuring the slammin' club tracks "No Hable Espanol" and "I Will Follow Him" ), were released.
Upon Perfect Tommy's retirement from the road, Ricky Ric became the resident DJ and entertainment director of the infamous Honolulu Hawaii dance and live music club "Gussie LaAmour's". He was well known there for his hot non-stop, high-energy Latin dance sets as well as his dance remixes, club lighting shows and other live music productions.
After two years in Hawaii, Ricky relocated to "glamorous" Norman Oklahoma, home of the infamous Oklahoma University. There he constructed "DiscoToy Studios", his first "stationary" recording facility in many years. With the studio and his production company (BMP), he has produced many high charting dance records for a variety of artists in all genres and has worked with and for many independent record labels.
Most recently you will find much of his new productions on "Thunder Quest Records" for the outrageous and often controversial rock band "Cutting Edge" . Cutting Edge's newest releases include the CDs "Censored by the US Government" , "Humongously Yours" and "The Big 14".
Ricky Ric has also produced his first solo non-stop dance CD, "Sleepless". This collection of work contains mostly all original, high-energy trance and vocal trance tracks. The CD also features the ambient, haunting vocals of Vicki St. Ives from Perfect Tommy and has been released on PT 109 Records .
Presently Ricky Ric, while working at DiscoToy Studios, BMP and Thunder Quest Records, has helped designed and configure the all new Dancing Dragon Studios in Oklahoma City. There he sits in as the studio's producer and engineer recording and mixing all genres of live bands and artists.
