I grew up in the upper middle class of San Francisco surrounded by flashy cars and people who forgot their brilliance beneath the reflect of paper bought identities. Now I live in Eugene Oregon about to graduate from the educational institution.
We need to reconnect to our truth beneathe the lies of surfaces and social maps we didnt create. We need to connect again to what makes us all the same in this life. It's unfortunate how folks can get caught up in a negative mindset and forget this connnection. No one is separate from the fabric of life. Especially now when war is commonplace we need to remember this, to work hard on love again, embracing and experiencing each other so we can become better people.Along my journey i have been supported by thousands of friends whose millions of inspirational thoughts and conversations have continually given me confirmation that each flowing moment here is ablessing. Every second is a chance gift, a growth oppertunity. I thank all those then and now who have propelled and sparked my transformations and creative expressions in this life. My Mom and Dad have given me so much and I grow ever wiser and humble as they continue to teach and support all I do, LOVE ALWAYS.My music is one method of conveying glimpses into my frustrations, inspirations and contemplations on this journey. I do not feel that art is something one can judge, art provides immediately and most importantly an outlet for energy the artist must honor. My art stems from momentary honest expressions of emotional states, from there my own perspective of the world we share projected in a meaningful way. The name I use when performing is Cmyst pronounced "see mist." It has multiple meanings, the first is that it represents my intention towards understanding the internal cloud between mind and spirit we all face in material imperial culture. The second is the male version of seamstress evoking from the name my hy hopefulness that in some way the art I express will convey the necessity of coming together or, seaming the ripped fabric of our spiritual and social community. The third meaning comes from the fact that at one point the mystic was a person who looked into the unknown and asked for knowledge of the tree of life or information about controlling the mystical elements of our reality. So the name Cmyst is also a call to understand this inclination to control the unknown so that we will not fall victims to it. Reaching for external power is perhaps the most dangerous desire in us. The very concept of mystic ought to be reserveed for the one who does not understand the mystical truth that we all ARE the mystery, the unknown, the love on which planets revolve. we will never find a greater power than the strength we were born with.
