I'd like to meet:
Experimental Geographers
Music:
Bagpipes, big bands, Celtic music, New wave, punk-rock, ska, mix-tapes, Pandora
Movies:
In the past year I have enjoyed: Amistad, Stardust, Hot Fuzz, Ratatouille, Once, The Brothers Grimm, The Lives of Others, Pan's Labyrinth, Bob Roberts, Children of Men, Blood Diamond
Television:
Netflix provided me with all of Firefly and is continually providing me with Heroes, which is pretty much all the TV I absorb. I've now watched all three seasons of Slings and Arrows, and it's amazing, tho never more so than the first season: if you like the sound of a Canadiän dramedy about a haunted Shakespeare festival, then find the DVDs; they were at my library. I like to watch certain TV shows, but without cable, I'll've to catch Daily Show and Colbert Report online.
Books:
Finished Baltimore: The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire, and still listening to Harry Potter VII. I will someday have to finish Travels with Charley, since the last disc of the audio book was broken. Also on tap: some article on Vowel Harmony.
Heroes:
Real go-getters that know what they want and how to get it, and if they don't, will do what it takes to find out. The world's eloquent few, from whom the merest utterance is a work of art. Rhetorical geniï who make simply, indisputable points and then step back, knowing their work is done. Truly competent listeners.
I don't need to name any famous people, because mostly when I want t'emulate someöne, or, as more frequently occurs, know I never could, it's a friend or acquaintence.
