I'm a 24-year-old former hometown hero. When I was about eight years old, I managed to pull three small children from a flooded river bank, saving their lives and indebting them to me forever. My picture was in the paper and I had a short spot on Good morning america, but what really stuck with me from the experience was what one of the little kids, Gloria, said to me after I pulled her to safety: "Are you an angel?" she asked. "No Gloria," I said. "I'm just a really kick-ass person." I also enjoy: junior mints, york peppermint patties, dolly parton, and bright white lights.
