Tre’B, is a Duval County born, Blodgett Home bred Hip Hop producer and not just a new face in popular music. In his short tenure in the music industry, he has achieved numerous noteworthy accomplishments that other independent producers could only dream of. He is established in remarkable songwriting, innovative music producing and an all around true hustla. His qualities as a man, rising mogul, and a true lover of the arts all combine into something totally refreshing. He is a strong advocate for self-expression and truly believes that “Music is a means of allowing others to understand how you feel, in the exact manner as you felt it.†This is why he views the recent debates over hip-hop lyrics as “fuel to a raging fireâ€. He believes that this subject has sparked the biggest debate in years and He exudes passion, drive, determination, and a true love of music.
In the late 90’s Tre learned the art of music from a multi-dimensional perspective. He was able to master the art of music as well as the business of music. It was at this time that he also learned networking as a valuable tool in this industry. In no time at all, he had risen above all opposition and began collaborating with other independent artist using Myspace as his networking tool. It seems almost natural that he would be rising in the ranks as one of Florida’s most sought after ghostwriters and producers. His credits include connections, collaborations and partnerships as far away as Germany and the UK. He is also well connected on his side of the turf in Virginia, Atlanta and Jacksonville, Florida, his hometown. In just a short time, Tre’B has already accomplished major milestones that have been virtually impossible for others in this industry to achieve. He has ghost written and produced many songs, appeared on mix tapes and has even been able to get an album on all major independent outlets.
Tre’B wants to make it clear that he is no cookie cutter producer. He believes in the individuality of music and works closely with the artist to create a final product that is truly unique and inspiring. He is able to create music from many perspectives. He can draw from his own experiences and create something to present to an artist or he is able to take an artists’ vision and create something personalized for them. For the right price, of coarse! "It’s important to truly let my voice be heard through my music. It is my aim to get people to forget all their worries when my music is played. I truly want people to have a good time and enjoy themselves. My responsibility as a writer is to give the listener a part of me in each song I write or produceâ€. As a ghostwriter and southern producer his goal is to make powerful music with mood changing lyrics and beats to lift the spirit. He wants everyone to feel his music and understand Duval City.
When asked his viewpoints on his city, he responds in a very thought provoking manner. He believes that his city is powered by the “black dollarâ€. He states that the city’s “hoods†are responsible for money going into and out of the city. “Sherwood, Flag Street, Blodgett, Moncrief, Eastside, Pearl World, and Southside Projects all play a key part in the economy and in the overall livelihood of Duval City and its time for their voices to be heard. Tre B’ feels that he makes music for the underdog because truly, they hold the most power. As an example, Tre B’ shares the following scenario: if the people in the hoods of my city refuse to patronize businesses and refrain from doing other things that support Jacksonville’s economy, the city would shut down for sure. He feels that anyone with that kind of power should have a voice in music. He has decided to stand up and be that voice
He strives to infuse all of his music with the “authentic Duval vibe.†Many industry insiders have touted him as the “next big thing†in music. “Tre’B is a talented dude and a dope producer. In a couple of years with the right decisions he will be Florida’s go to guy. "He has a real distinct sound," says another industry insider. It is Tre’B’s hope that his distinct style, personal touches, and overall love of the game will allow him to be a leader in the industry and live out his biggest dream.
When asked about his goals for the future he responds introspectively taking a moment to quietly remember where he has come from and respectfully responds with his view on his future
" I believe that life is about options. The more options you have, the better off you will be. I came from a situation where very few options were provided for me, thus I had to create my own. Options make life easier. For example, a convicted drug dealer has had all of his options taken away from him. His environment may have lead to the bad decisions that he has made, but after he is reformed and rehabilitated, he still has no options. He cannot find gainful employment because employers refuse to offer employment to convicted felons. He cannot even go to school because felons cannot get financial assistance. He can barely walk down the streets of his own hood without being looked down upon because he has decided to take a different path that has left him broke.
This is how it is in the hood. Money equals Respect. Since he cant find a job and he can’t go to school, he returns to his life of crime. I’m sure that if he were given options in by those that preceded him (his parents), he wouldn’t have chosen this type of lifestyle. In the future I want to provide options for my kids and loved ones who supported me when that may have been hard to do. I’m doing all of this, for the people I love!â€
“…Oh and umm I am running for mayor of Jacksonville when I turn 45. Duval is my city. It has always been my city and it will always be!"
