Biography: Born Sarah Victoria Higginson in Burlington, Ontario, Torri knew she wanted to act since she was small. And so, at the age of eighteen, she began fulfilling her destiny by moving to England to study acting at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Now, considered one of Canada's leading actors and a familiar face internationally through her various roles on the television, stage and the big screen. Torri has earned herself numerous prestigious awards including the Gemini Award for Best Actress in a drama series for The City. Besides a full plate of film and television projects, Torri, also finds the time to volunteer with countless charities and non-profit organizations such as "Food On Foot" and "Create A Smile".

Torri is a proud owner of two dogs named Addy Twiggy Chicken Legs Killer and Paloma Sedgewick Saddie Street.
Torri had a cat named Shaka Zulu Gumbo Yaya.
Torri took over the role of Dr. Elizabeth Weir from fellow Canadian actress, Jessica Steen.
Torri has the same talent agent as Jessica Steen.
Torri has worked with SG-1 Alumni Peter Williams and JR Bourne, in the movie Jungleground, nine years prior to beginning her work in the Stargate Franchise in 2004.
Torri attended the same school as Ewan McGregor and Daniel Craig.
Torri was an apprentice under voice and text coach Patsy Rodenburg.
Torri counts among her avocations exotic travels, a 7,500-foot climb up Mount Sinai in Egypt as well as "an amazing and grueling 10-day hiking trek through mountainous Chiang Mai province in northern Thailand to visit a number of hill-tribe villages."
