L Matik A.K.A. Lil L (Born Alani Lolohea) of Tongan blood, hails from East Palo Alto, CA. better known as "The Small Town Cemetery". Seeded in "The Town", L made his presence known in The Bay Area early in his career and is considered to this day one of the first Polynesian Icons to pioneer the rap game. Although L Matik is dedicated to his music, it hasn't always been easy for this young rapper. L Matik was incarcerated in 1993 on 12 felony counts and was in and out of correctional institutions for the next 8 years. In the summer of 1999, shots rang out and L was hit multiple times leaving him with critical gunshot wounds. Through his many ups and downs, only through self perseverance and determination, has his love of music been able to mature into a successful rap career. E.P.A. is roughly 2.5 square miles densely populated with about 32,000 people. Through the cracks, L Matik emerged and established himself as a prominent artist on the Bay Area rap scene with his debut album release entitled "Still On The Block" in late 2006. L's raw style of flow touches neighboring states such as Utah, Nevada, Oregon, Texas and even Hawaii. His name has also recently been ringing out on the East Coast in such cities as New York and Washington D.C. and even as far South as Florida. His music even stretches well over International waters with large fan bases in such places as Fiji, Samoa, New Zealand, Australia, Guam and of course, his native Tonga. L Matik is currently working on his newest independent project entitled "My Sav'd Out Militia Gang (The Bloodline)" due out early 2009. Also stay tuned for "My Dope Boy Militia Gang D.B.M.G."
