'A GREAT VOICE...A VERY POLISHED SINGER'
J. Matthew Cobb ~ PrayzeHymn Ent.Tiffanie Bridges, dubbed "Soul Powerhouse" by Nick Crews of the Indianapolis Star for her dynamic performance as Professional Woman in the Off-Broadway hit, Menopause The Musical, is a Chicago-born singer with vocal ability ranging from sultry jazz to foot stomping gospel!
Tiffanie started with humble beginnings as a choir member at Prayer Mission Church of God in Christ in Chicago, IL. (also where she met her first & only true love). She led her first solo at the tender age of thirteen, and was so nervous, she would not look up at the audience! Tiffanie, who was a bit shy back in those days, kept her eyes down on the floor and still smiles at the memory of the days when she would almost pass out when asked to sing in front of others. However, God was not going to allow her to run from developing the great talent He had given her, and she began to hone her vocal skill by continuing to sing not only in her church choir, but the district and state choirs as well.
Tiffanie attended & graduated from Hyde Park Career Academy where she sang in the Jazz Chorus on Chicago's south side. It was there that Tiffanie began to take a real interest in music. Her music teacher, Ms. Wiggins, seemed to recognize that Tiffanie had a great talent, and encouraged her to spread her wings and soar. In Tiffanie's sophomore year, she put her stage fright aside and sang her favorite song in the school's talent show; Anita Baker's 'Angel'. From that moment on, her classmates always referred to her as "the girl who can sang!!"
In 1993, she married her childhood sweetheart, Angelo Bridges, who is an awesomely talented musician and producer. Who would have ever thought that these two would be divinely connected not only in love, but with a specific assignment to make beautiful music together! In 1999, the couple relocated to Indianapolis, IN. with their three small children in search of...something. In late 2002, they welcomed the gift of twin daughters into their lives born prematurely 13 weeks, but certainly proving to be God's miracles and blessings. Going through the preemie experience enlightened Tiffanie to write, and in 2004, her first official song was recorded by Napoleon Williams & True Friends True Praise-the title track to their debut gospel album 'Use Me As You Will'.
Although it was quite evident that Tiffanie possessed a superb gift in music, her naturally comedic and outgoing personality thrust her into the world of theater. In 2003 at the American Cabaret Theatre in Indianapolis, she got a professional start as a performer with her debut appearance in "The Sixties Sensation". The next couple of shows led to an audition with the International hit, Menopause The Musical, and in 2005, Tiffanie graced the stage in the principal role of 'Professional Woman', marking it as Indianapolis' longest running musical in history! Since then she has traveled with touring companies with the show to over 35 cities nationwide.
In 2008, Tiffanie released her highly anticipated debut gospel CD entitled 'I'm Ready', a 9-track effort with seven of the songs written by Tiffanie herself and produced by her talented husband. Her unique vocal stylings have been described as the plush of Roberta Flack with the melisma challenges of Chaka Khan! Her CD is available exclusively on her website at www.tiffaniebridges.com
Today, Tiffanie also performs with her band and is an experience sure to uplift and inspire!
