I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

My family and long-term friends pretty much know everything there is to know. As for everyone else, I'm a native Austinite, a karaoke junkie, madly in love with my husband, blessed with great kids who are all grown up, I've been blessed with a fantastic circle of friends, able to enjoy vacations, and have an awesome new career as an admissions director at a spectacular healthcare facility. Working in Trauma Centers to long-term care facilities, I've learned that life is precious and unpredictable, so make the best of each day. Whenever I feel a little gloomy, I just remind myself that it's another day I'm above ground, and that makes the possibilities endless! Rock on!

For downtime, I've learned the joys of having supportive, loving friends and spending more time with them. I now actually look forward to "Girls' Night Out" with this group of strong, hard working, brilliant, witty and beautiful women. Then I have my very best girlfriends, without whom my life would be incomplete. I love spending time with them. Especially at the spa!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

If this is a, "if you could meet anyone, dead or alive" question, then I would choose all of the charismatic religious figures: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, et al. Can you imagine listening to their teachings? How phenomenal would that be?Eckhart Tolle, Shirley MacLaine, Deepak Chopra, and Esther Hicks would be enlightening to meet and visit with as well. On a fun note, I'd love to meet Jim Belushi and Tom Bergeron. Throw Ellen Degeneres in there, and we have a party on our hands! They'd be fun to have over for bbq and water volleyball! I'd also love to meet the Good Morning America hosts. Especially Robin and Diane. Then of course I would love to personally meet Marlo Thomas. She is my celebrity hero. Her work in keeping her Dad's vision alive with St. Jude's is an inspiration for me to do good things with my life. As for meeting others on myspace, I'm really here to keep in touch with friends, both past and present, as well as my family. But I'm open to meeting new people as well. I'm learning about pantheism and Buddhism and how the two relate, so am interested in learning from others with the same beliefs.

Big Hand, Little Hand

Ok&so in doing these little surveys that come along every so often (ok, ok, like, ALL of the time), I've run across a question several times now that asks: "do you make a wish at 11:11?". I didn't kno...

2008 Gratitude Journal

Really?! Already?! Wow! Another journey around the sun sure went by pretty quick. I crammed as much living into this year in the life as I could, starting with hanging out with new friends to ring in...

Words to Live By

Funny how things work out, y'know?    I've been searching (and searching and searching) for artists for some body art and came across a very interesting woman.    She's obviously...

Beautiful October

I just love this time of year in Central Texas. October brings the stellar days and crisp evenings like no other time of year. But what it is about this year that has made the sunrises and sunsets so...

A repost for my newer readers

I know it's been a while since I've posted a meaningful weblog.  Some would argue that I've NEVER posted a meaningful blog, but that's ok, too.  But with work and corporate visits and a Gran...

This is how bored I am

I've been looking forward to this weekend for a long time.  Seems like every weekend is spent going and doing, which is always fun and usually exciting.  But there's something about being at...

The more things change...

The more things change...   I had a sensational holiday weekend this past week.  Saturday was spent enjoying a mini-spa day, complete with mani/pedi and a haircut, then a swim, then out for ...

Social Butterfly

Ok, so I blog. I don't think I qualify as a "blogger", since those people literally pour everything out there every day in what can only be described as a public diary. Do I really need to know that ...

What I learned Summer 08

My friend, Dez (with baby on board), threw out a tag on things we've learned over the summer.  So I've picked up the challenge and determined the following are attributed to the Summer of '08 I...

Worth the Weight

I was 8 pounds 11 ounces at birth.  My mother used to tell me that the first thing people said when they picked me up was "unh!".  I've never been the frail, petite type.  Always the to...
