'let's art'
i have lived in melbourne for most of my life, apart from my first two years of life in brisbane, and a temporary stint as an american child when i was 8.
i am so glad to live in melbourne.
number one, the fashion scene in melbourne is excellent. the best in australia, most definitely. in comparison to europe, we're not too crash hot [although there are many melbourne fashion designers i adore!]. but yes, fashion. that is basically me. fashion. oh, i like to dance also... mainly in my bedroom. i actually started dancing at the fresh age of six. sadly yr12 has stripped me of any non-school-related activity. phooey.
back to melbourne, some may call it a mish-mash, but it suits me just fine. i love the fact that i only have to travel a short distance to the heart of the city, to be able to be hit with a kaleidoscope of culture and diversity.
strawberry milk is probably my favourite beverage - but if there was a drink called fashion pop, i would probably drink that. i think that baby food is quite delicious, but only the fruity kind.
back to fashion: i don't know where i would be without it. quite seriously, if the industry did not exist for me to be able to take an interest in it, i would feel like a rather boring child. yes, i would have my family, my friends, and music, all things that i couldn't live without, but it is fashion and the industry of fashion that really sets something going inside me. I ADORE FASHION BLOGS [particularly 'hel looks' and 'the sartorialist']. hedi slimane is a genius, he revolutionised dior homme [and will be sorely missed]. i like art in general, however i am fussy. i find that people define 'art' very differently. the definition of art is subjective, more so than a lot of things. many people mistake ugliness for tastelessness. i like political art. naturally this means i like street art. i like things with meaning. i like things that are just cool. terry richardson inspires me.
