About Me

Hormiga was founded in 2000, when Paco de Vito and Alan Perini started to play together their electric guitars. There was no a real project, until Luca Perini, with his accordion and Loris Antoniazzi (from Bartok), with his piano, entered in the band. Hormiga recorded a song included in a compilation of Ghostrecords (Varese, Italy), called "Ghost town: 13 songs from the lake county", with other bands Varese as Midwest and Bartok. Then, Hormiga collaborated with Mr. Henry (Ghostrecords, Suiteside records), for one song of "Lazily go through", his first album. Hormiga played in some performances and collaborated with the chinese artist Qi-Kai Zang, too. In 2004 Ghostrecords released "Shore", the first LP of Hormiga, that received good reviews from italian newspapers. In the 2006, after some shows and a change of the line-up, with Paolo Grassi from Midwest, Eleonora Manfredi and Andrea Magrin, Hormiga played with Shane de Leon and Mae Starr of Rollerball, in the solo project of Shane, called Miss Massive Snowflake, along a mini-tour in North Italy. In the second half of 2006 the band recorded the LP "You listen before being born". The LP is released in USA by Nillacat, the little beautiful label of Monte Trent Allen and Mae Starr of Rollerball who also remixed "Shore".Hormiga: Alan Perini, Paco De vito: guitars, vocals, samplers, oscillators, trumpet, violin. Paolo Grassi: clarinet, bass clarinet, drums and percussions.
