Captain Kickarse and the Awesomes are part of The Bird's Robe Collective
Captain Kickarse and the Awesomes are featured on the soundtrack to Lab Rats Challenge.
Influences: The Captain is influenced purely by the dark caverns of the mind, the rich nothingness which envelopes and pulls into the void.
Sounds Like: "There is something good happening with this sound.... I believe that there is the making of something fabulous with this. It's played well and by musicians that seem to be pretty at ease with their instruments. Some might ask "where's the vocal?". I don't. There is no need for a vocal. This is a splendid instrumental that should propel the guys on to sheer excellence.
In a sentence: Erm, awesome."
- Living Atheist on Nothing More Important
"With the energy of a session band and the musical skill to boot they kept me captivated the entire time... think along the lines of a band with technical ability not unlike the Mars Volta, thrashy blues, psychadelic guitar rock, instrumental glory and a general all round good vibe."

"It's hard to find a true genre for this stuff. One minute it's pure thrash, the next it sounds like an Old Grey Whistle Test session. Ask your Dad. If you're a fan of register-abusing guitar (which is played very ably), then listen to this. And love it."
- Living Atheist on Brand New Benny
"Ah ha....ha ha...hmmm... ah haha bah haha... Now THAT's a band name!"
- James Valentine - ABC 702
"It's really a jam sesh as far as I can tell, with several ideas being bandied about amongst the protagonists. I've heard more interesting stuff by these guys, with better arrangement and more purpose, but I don't think they really give a fuck what we think.
It's freeform rock, which has to be a world better than freeform jazz, FFS. Yeah!"
