Born and raised within the gang riddled city streets of Chicago, Rock It aka Charlie Live continues to this day striving to not just be another statistic. Raised by a single mother, the oldest child of 2 had to mature into a man quickly and take responsibility of his younger sister. As gang violence took over the streets of Chicago, the rising influence of gang activity would touch Rockit as many young men growing up in the inner city. Loosing his best friend over this same violence and almost loosing his own life Rockit's story is about survival where many dont survive. His love for music got him at an early age, as he began crafting his artform battleing local MCs throughout Chicago. Rappin at the tender age of only 11 his style is truly one of a kind. Hardcore hip hop mixed with a club appeal, yet true to his upbringing he states (Rockit) "I grew up on them niggas that spit. Cube, Twista, LL Cool J, Common. But I understand the game, they wanna move so im gonna make them move. Im going to give them what they want. But ima always spit." Armed with a unique sound his ability to flow gracefully over any track is a rare commodity in todays hip hop arena. With a mastered delivery to go along with his arsenal of tricks Rockit is ready to take the game by storm. Currently working on his long awaited self titled debut album Rockit has already created a buzz on the local scene. Getting numerous spins for his song "Go 45" on Chicago's 107.5 WGCI Rockit has distributed over 5000 copies of his first demo "State the facts, Start the gossip." which is setting the streets up for his first compilation and debut album both dropping this year. Rockit has made appearences for Ludicris of D.T.P. as an opening act in Atlanta, Georgia and opened up shows for Black Rob of Bad Boy. He has collaborated wit some of the best artist and producers from Chicago such as DJ ButterPro, The Goon Squad, DJ Worth, B Crucial and many more. Some surprise appearences from his debut album is sure to keep the streets wanting for more in 2009. As Hip hop remains to be the voice of the inner city throughout America and has crossed over even overseas. Rockit aka Charlie Live is a beginning of a new breed of MC. True to his upbringings his ability to pen real lyricism with crossover appeal to adapt to todays crunk driven music is sure to make him an upcoming MC labels must take notice to.
