Liz in the Diamond District

I said I wouldn't...but dammnit I did it anyway.

About Me

What you see is what you get. I am not perfect. I am a realist not an idealist. I am a teacher at heart. I am an entrepreneur. I am loved. I am life. I am joy. I am finally at peace with myself. I am a friend. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am a philanthropist. I am a fighter, but being a lover is more rewarding. I think about the plight of black people often. I have feelings that get hurt. I hurt other peoples feelings sometimes but, not on purpose. I laugh a lot. I cry when I watch the news. I live fearlessly. I believe that you reap what you sow. I am a young woman driving on the road to riches in a toyota. I am at my essence a woman that is still learning from her mistakes.

My Interests

What interest me is Art, Museums, history, anthropology, writing, volunteer work, learning new things, reading, traveling, going to games (football, baseball, basketball), plays, dance performances, spending time with my crazy friends and family (i love my family); with a good party sprinkled in :-)

I'd like to meet:

Like-minded creative and positive individuals. Oprah, Kimora Lee Simmons, Russell Simmons, lifestyle bloggers or website owners. I have met almost everyone else that is of any true value to my life.

Music:

I don't have the time to write every artist that I enjoy but, I can give you the genres I absolutely adore; R&B, Classic Soul, Quiet Storm, Hip-Hop, Durty South (all types: crunk, chopped & screwed), Rock, Alternative, Pop, Reggae, Go-Go, Dance, Afro-Latin, Soca, Afro-Pop, Classical, Jazz, Blues, and Country

I see a new movie usually every week, perks of having my job and a BF that's a movie buff. But, my all faves are Rue de Casse Negres, Carmen (anything w/ Dorothy Dandrige), Color Purple, Malcolm X, School Daze, and Lord of the Rings. All things Denzel Washington, Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor. X-Men, Scary Movie, all Tyler Perry movies, action movies, blaxplotation films, documentaries, and more I just can't remember now.

Television:

Thanks to Tivo I can watch television now!!!! When I get a little free time to watch, it's usually I Love New York (our any other show in that genre) Girlfriends, Bionic Woman, Journey Man Entourage, Weeds, Boondocks (that Riley is ignorant), Nip Tuck, Football (during the season), anything on the Style Network (especially the make-over shows), Bravo, re-runs of Good Times and A Different World, National Geographic Channel and anything on the History Channel or PBS.
