DJ Shiva @ HOB SUNDAY

Born in London of Persian descent, L.A.-based DJ Shiva made her move stateside as a youth, settling in Southern Florida. A hotbed of musical and cultural diversity, Shiva soaked in the soul, funk, world music and Miami bass styles of the region. She began her musical journey, taking first to the piano and then evolving into a highly sought-after DJ at house parties and hip sushi bars. In hot pursuit of the music and a serious DJ career, Shiva moved west, to Los Angeles. In the two years she has spent on the professional scene, spinning hip hop; reggae; 60’s soul; 70’s funk and 80’s dance, Shiva has wo-manned the decks at city mainstays the Roxy, Key Club, Zanzibar, and the westside’s oldest venue, The Townhouse, to name a few. She has made a habit of spinning the hottest parties in the Hollywood Hills, even traveling for exclusive events in Vegas, most recently at Hard Rock Hotel’s infamous Body English. For nearly six months, DJ Shiva has been a behind-the-scenes presence at L.A.’s premier hip hop radio station, Power106. She has just finished her summer-long, weekly residency at the World Famous Viper Room, and in September will be starting a weekly residency at the House of Blues Sunset Strip exclusive Foundation Room.
