About Me
Oxford's premier live music venue and home of the Fat Larry, the best pizza pie from, well, anywhere! Founded in 1993 by 3 college friends, who shared a love for great food, especially pizza by the slice, crafted beers, and awesome music, Proud Larrys quickly began establishing itself as one of Oxford's hip dining and listening rooms. Built with the love and sweat of some great friends and a hard working staff, Larrys continues to serve Oxford and Mississippi with great food, drink, and music.
Proud Larry's is located just off of Oxford's Courthouse Square. Not only are we known for bringing the best music to Oxford but also for some of the best food around. Stop by and grab one of our famous Larry Burgers, or try out some of our homemade pizzas, pastas or calzones. Our kitchen is open ‘til 10 p.m Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. We offer a full service bar and a non-smoking family friendly dining area. After dinner stick around for some great local music or shows by some of the best up-and-coming artists in the country. We have hosted many music legends over the years such as Warren Zevon, Mose Allison, Del McCoury, and Elvis Costello, just to name a few. Current day rockers like Ween, The Drive By Truckers, Hank III, and Lucero, have helped warp the walls over the years. And we can't leave out the roots of North Mississippi we have been so fortunate to host- like the late Jr. Kimbrough, R.L. Burnside, and Paul "Wine" Jones, as well as those still ripping- The North Mississippi Allstars, T-Model Ford, Kenny Brown, and The Burnside Exploration. How lucky we are to be blessed with the hypnotic romp of North Mississippi Hill Country Blues. Up and comers (at the time) like John Mayer and Modest Mouse have spent evenings on our stage. We can't leave out New Orleans, a city that has spurned funk and jazz, and loaned their artists, like The Dirty Dozen, Rebirth, Hot 8, Lil Rascals, Soul Rebels, Astral Project, George Porter Jr, Bo Dollis and The Wild Magnolias, and many more, to us in Oxford. Without a doubt, LOCAL music is our life blood, and we have a ball watching them develop and grow. From Blue Mountain, Beanland, The Kudzu Kings, and The Cooters, to all the young works in progress, we support our local musicians. So come on by for a slice of pizza, salad or burger, sip a cold beer and stay for the great tunes.
