I am here for Friends

About Me

Hello!I just came out of that proverbial closet a couple of years ago to anyone and everyone who'd listen. I met and fell in love with a woman in an extremely unconventional way - picked up my life in Virginia and moved to be with her. Unfortunately, we have very few gay friends. Obviously, there's more to me than being gay, but I feel like that's one area of my life that I constantly feel a void. It took me a long time to realize and ultimately accept who I am and now, honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.I've been known to carry a tune or two. I occassionally sing in weddings and can be coaxed into singing at Karaoke every once in a while. I LOVE games. Not mind games, but actual games - like cards, board games, sports - if it's competition, I'll play it. If one team can walk away a winner - I'm all about it! I love a great competitive game. I can accept losing, but ALWAYS play to win.

My Interests

love to play and watch sports...tennis, basketball, softball, volleyball, shooting pool...LOVE games!!!

I'd like to meet:

I'd really like to meet other gay and lesbian adults - friendship only, please. I'm also looking forward to reconnecting with old friends. It amazes me how many people are on MySpace!!

Music:

a little bit of everything...especially, soulful music like India.Arie, Mary J. Blige and Lauren Hill - kinda depends on my mood at the time.

Movies:

mostly comedies and romantic comedies. Always interested in gay themed movies that I may not have seen yet. Some favorites...Pulp Fiction, The Usual Suspects, The Wedding Singer, There's Something About Mary, Raising Helen, If These Walls Could Talk 2...could go on forever about movies! Way too many to name.

Television:

The L Word; pretty much ALL reality TV - you name it, we probably watch it. Not sure how I survived before without my DVR.

Books:

haven't been reading much lately, except the Entertainment Weekly and Curve that shows up every week

Heroes:

my Mom. I have so much respect for strong, intelligent women.
