Welcome to... another Myspace profile. So what is this one all about?
This is primarily meant as a base for my one-man-army band project called "WintherTod". If you want to know more about it, just read on (Hatisk Tysk Black Meta? further down) or head to the WintherTod homepage which is why I'm writing all of this in English anyway, since I cannot be arsed to write this in to languages as well.
Anyways, I started writing for an online magazine last year and since then this profile has been added to the main magazine profile as well. So, if you got here by means of Mindbreed, you should now know why I am in their toplist ;p
Feel free to write me a message if you'd like to comment one of my articles or the crappy EP I have released back in er 2006. Do not expect me however to add you as a friend, without knowing you. I am in fact trying to keep my myspace friendships to a minimum for now and only to include personal friends as well as bands and other groups that I think are good recommendations for everyone, whether they are well-known already or not. So, feel free to scroll through them. If you like Industrial Metal as much as I do you will, no doubt, find some nice bands among them - if you don't already know them, that is!
WintherTod - Hatisk Tysk Black Metal?
The story so far (put short):
I've been planning to make music in a band for some years now. Some years ago, I was pissed off by people always jumping off of projects they'd already agreed on, so I decided to just start a project completely on my own. After finding out about Nargaroth and Burzum I saw that being a one-man-band isn't as impossible as I had always thought, so I decided to try and make something black metallish because you don't need high quality equipment and stuff in order to get some satisfying results.
So that was back in 2005. I started working out the artwork, the name (Herbstleyd became Vinthermond became Winthermond became Winthertod) and writing down the lyrics. In winter 2005 I even started writing tabs and I began searching for more equipment and ways of recording with as few costs as possible.
In the summer of 2006, I had my e-guitar, a PC and some decent freeware. With these components I managed to release a first very amateurish ep, which I called "Vor Zeyten giergem Schlunde" in the fall of the same year, which you can download for free on the project's official homepage www.winthertod.de.ms. The music, I think, is best described as some mélange of amateurish-burzumesque guitars and messed up industrial rythms, at least in parts of the ep, unintentionally reminding of early Totenmond.
Immediately afterwards, I already thought about a second release, but due to me moving to cologne, I was not yet able to acquire the hardware required for new recording sessions. I've got some ideas revolving around black metal and industrial metal, but whatever will come out of these thoughts will be of a higher standard than what I have last released. Be prepared!
