YOUNG PEOPLE'S OFFICE

I am here for Networking

About Me

Hello everyone,It is important to let you know that the Young People’s Office has now closed. Our thoughts on this are:
“Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
But, “they do say when one door closes another one opens”.
It is important for us to say

“a very big thank you”

to you all for your commitment and belief that you have shown in influencing and shaping Peterborough. We are proud of you. You made the Young People’s Office what it was, it was recognised at both National and Regional levels for including young people in decision-making and affecting change in the perceptions and beliefs of adults.
The door that has just opened is Peterborough Youth Bank.
We believe you can still help to make a difference in Peterborough by becoming a member of this new, interesting and exciting young person led-opportunity. If you choose to get involved, we will continue giving you all our support and encouragement.

How do you make Peterborough a better place? Heres your chance to tell us what you really like about Peterborough, whether its places to go or things to do. If you can't think of something, tell us why!We will take the most interesting points each month and put them on the official Young Person's Website for Peterborough. ..

My Interests

Youth Consultation Peterborough involves young people aged 13-19 in a range of projects aiming to reach and support young people in expressing their views in the decision-making process. The focus is on building bridges between young people and decision-maker's to increase skills and confidence, support decision-maker's needs in partnership with the young people's agenda and to enable their voices to be heard. The use of web pages allows greater numbers of young people to contribute to reviewing services and organisations within the area. The Young People's Office has offered services better value for money and has developed a steady platform from which young people's views can be heard. DIVtest

Youth Can Do It.

On Saturday the 13th of January I was invited to participate in the Youth Can Do It launch in the centre of town. I was unsure weather I should partake but when I found out I would get a free t shirt I was sold.

Some of the members of the Young People's Office helped create a power point presentation to be shown on the day, it can be found on the internet by going to "YOUTH OFFER"
Through out the day, we were asking young people to fill in little vote slips that asked what they were interested in. When some one filled in a vote slip they were entered in to a prize draw to win a laptop.

It was interesting to see the amount of young people that when asked if they would like the chance to get there views across and also have the chance to win a laptop, just walked on by.

We would like to congratulate the winner of the laptop, and extend an open invitation to every one that took part in the day and those that did not get the chance to take part, to come to the Young People's Office.
