I was born in Russia, live in the States since 1990 and I love all things Italian.
I work as a physician, specializing in Palliative Medicine, with background in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics.
I a person of contrasts, possessing qualities which are often incompatible with each other.
Love for this world, family, friends, striving to be a better, wiser person - those are the things that I find important.
I love life, and find that each day is a blessing (even though I do complain about having a tough time or tough life quite often). I want each day to last as long as possible, absorbing every moment and living it to the fullest. When I do something, I put my heart and soul into it, and try to enjoy life in all its beauty. I don't handle stress and fatigue well, both of which are plentiful in my life, largely due to my own doing.
What I don't like is anger, hatred, when people hurt each other, when force is preferred to wisdom. I don't like the concept of war, but unfortunately I have come to a conclusion that wars are an unavoidable part of human nature, they are a part of our existence in this world...
I am finally adding a couple of words about palliative care, which is who I do for living. Basically it is a subspecialty of medicine which focuses on making people feel better. Whether a person is in pain or short of breath, nauseated or delirious - the goal is to ease the suffering. So while a cardiologist is trying to treat heart disease, an oncologist helps battle cancer, orthopedist fixes broken bones, palliative medicine docs try to help patients feel better during the process. This is particularly important for many patients at the end of life, since surely most of us don't want to die in pain and suffering.
About a year ago I had my debut as a DJ, which went great! Everybody at the party had fun and I had a blast! Since then, I've been DJing about once a month (I've been a little too busy with my daytime physician job to do it more often). I do love music, it is something that keeps me alive. Hoping to DJ a little more in the coming months.
