Jierra was born in Miami, Florida and at an early age she moved with her family to Michigan. Growing up in a family that was into all types of music, Jierra was exposed to it all and spent countless numbers of hours singing or dancing along. By the time she was 4, music and dance were in her soul and she began performing wherever there was a stage or a small gathering.Appearing in talent shows around her hometown, it was obvious that she was happiest on the stage. The small city would not be able to keep her very long and she was moved to Los Angeles. Jierra quickly joined a performing arts group and became the lead singer and dancer. Because Jierra had an equal passion for dance as singing, she trained and learned all different styles of dance and traveled throughout Southern California blowing audiences away with her soulful, melodic voice and dancing abilities. In one of her live performances, Jierra was seen by a producer and he booked her for a commercial for Coca-Cola, singing the Company’s well-known song. Immediately following this, Jierra was hired to sing for Mattel’s Barbie commercial. These were her first experiences in the recording studio. It was then that Jierra knew she wanted to be a recording artist. While continuing to do live shows and performing in the theater, Jierra also had acting parts coming her way. She proved talented in this profession as well and soon an offer for a prestigious acting scholarship was presented to her. She did not take it up at that time, but instead, decided to continue performing live in shows and concerts. Pretty soon her voice had carried her to many parts of the world including a small tour in Japan and Mexico. She even did a 6 week tour in the Caribbean islands which increased her fan base to include people from all over the world.Although she was grateful for these opportunities and experienced moderate success, her real passion was in writing and singing. She wanted to create music that was passionate, rhythmic and made people move.Jierra carried her journal every where she went, writing and writing things she was experiencing and things she felt passionate about. She sat down at her keyboard and put it to music. It wasn’t anything like she had heard before and not being a producer, had no clue how to get it to the next stage. She continued performing, meeting people and working on developing her music and sound. Her dream was to mix and blend syncopated rhythms with drum beats that would satisfy her as a dancer and have a rich thick sound while staying ‘club and radio’ friendly.Writing and learning everything she could under the guidance of a very experienced producer and writers, Jierra got the opportunity to experience what it was really going take to make it as a singer/songwriter. She took that direction and wrote non-stop. A lot of the songs were never fully recorded and she was told to go back and write more. Disappointed at times, she never lost sight of the goal which was to get what she wanted to say on the paper, put it to great music and get it out into the world. During this process she feels that she finally found herself as an artist and even beyond that, as a person. She unlocked the truth or herself and found her formula of how to communicate through music in ways she had always dreamed.Jierra is ready and excited to take her recording career to the next level. She has done hundreds of live shows, recorded many, many songs and met and worked with some extremely talented people. She wants to take all of that experience, passion and talent and share it with her current fans and many more fans to come. She is pursuing a recording contract and looks forward to going global with a creative team.
