In a town where music is supposed to be a big part of its past, there is a downpour of artist stuck in a groove covering songs written many years before they were born. Where country, classic rock, and blues and rock en roll is played every night in bars all over town. A sound emerges still a little blues, and so much more, a lot of smooth funk and soul and most important all original. At first Flux Trio was labeled as Jazz music, which scared a lot of owners and hurt there chances of playing in many establishments plus they did not do covers? No covers? But some places took a chance on this sound and guys cause they seen potential. So the buzz grew about this group, people understanding they are jazzy but you can’t say they are only jazz a lot of blues, funk , soul, and rock. People were drawn to there creative streaks and improve. Most people not able to keep there eyes of the drummer, Micah York, which is understandable cause he is amazing, a mainly Jazz&Be bop drummer showed people a lot with his solos and Deep pockets. But then you have Jon wisdom the Guitar player who was new to the Jazzy but owned all blues. People were in AWH with his solos and his rifts the way he made the guitar squeal one second and play the softest funky rift you ever heard the next. Then comes the big guy (Jeremy Hunt) with the low end, even know he was new at bass his lines where not weak and sometimes down right smooth as can be. They way he sings with so much soul you can feel the pain and pleasure in his words. Jon and Jeremy had been in another band together writing and what not but never took off. Jeremy and Micah were friends but until Micah wanted to be a musician they really did not have that close of a friendship. With a couple songs that Jon and Jeremy had wrote the trio started Jamming.. Then songs came out of no where every time they got together two and three songs were born with ease. Now almost 2 years and 56 songs later they are known for playing music, and doing it well. Playing at most of the local spots. They got there start at First Fridays where everyone one noticed something special.
Then playing other gigs like ChicagoCafé, Shaolin Computers, Mcgraws Coffee, Lebeaus Coffee, Big Eds, Old Town Tavern, Parkside Steak and Grill, Swampers in the Marriott, Florence Marina was a every week gig for a while there till they closed down for the winter. Also playing some shows in Huntsville, where they were received even better than there home town. They released there first Cd “Live Sessions†and sold 300 copies before they knew it, and continues to sale. Most Recent they won the Battle of the Bands in Florence and Received some studio time in doing so. They Recorded at the Nuthouse and a New Album “Quiet Please†will be available, first of November. Also They just performed with three other bands at Urban Echo Festival in downtown Florence where they were a hit as was the Festival. Flux still writing, still playing, still growing. You will not Regret booking these guys, there sound is great and people really enjoy hearing something new. These guys play what they feel and its very real. All songs written with some kind of a emotion, and many telling a story of the pain or heartach. But some just making most smile. Good freinds making great music and just like in life everything is in a Flux, just like the music.
