About Me

Tremaine "Six7" Williams began playing the piano at age seven in church in his hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina. Influenced by the sounds of gospel music, he later developed an ear for percussion rhythms while playing the drums for the church choir. His mother shortly realized his musical gifts and ability to instinctively play songs by ear and signed him up to join the renowned Raleigh Boychoir, where American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken was previously a member. After lending his production works to emerging singers in North Carolina, Tremaine attended Full Sail in Winterpark, FL. His drive and determination to make a name in the music industry helped give him notoriety while at Full Sail where he decided to pursue audio engineering. Upon graduating in October 2004 with his Associate of Science degree in Recording Arts, Tremaine achieved one of his many career goals, as he received an internship at Hidden Beach Recordings, home of Grammy award winner Jill Scott. Working in the presence of artists that he long admired such as Jill Scott and jazz saxophonist Mike Phillips, his career catapulted when he moved to Los Angeles, California and became a standout intern at the label from November 2004 to June 2005. While at Hidden Beach Tremaine caught the attention of producer JR Hutson, noted for his certified work with Boyz II Men, and worked as his in-house engineer. Under the tutelage of JR Hutson, Tremaine received album credits on Unwrapped Vol. 4 (Hidden Beach), which charted #3 on the Jazz Billboard charts. He also worked independently engineering music for rising artists including singer Keite Young (Hidden Beach), One Chance of Usher’s Us Records, Vanessa Marquez (Universal), Tasha Ramos (Star Trak), Tiffany Villarreal (Aftermath), N'Dambi (Stax/Concord) and gospel music's emerging star Onitsha (Hidden Beach). Tremaine achieved another benchmark in his career when he joined the Recording Academy as a voting member at age 21 in December 2005. After working with veteran artists including rapper MC Lyte and Jill Scott Tremaine left JR Hutson to start his own music production company by the name of Six7 Productions, rightfully named by the fact that he is 6 feet 7 inches tall, in July 2006. He also joined SESAC as a writer and publisher in March 2007. Today Tremaine is focused on building a roster of talented artists and writers under his production company while also honing his craft. With the talent and desire to achieve that Tremaine ultimately possesses, there is no doubt that he will be a major force in the music industry for many years to come…
