Profile GeneratorHaruhiko Ash is former vocalist and front man of THE ZOLGE, one of the most important band in Japan's underground music scene in the period of '80s to '90s. Haruhiko Ash played active in the wide variety of fieldswithout limitation as a punk music. although THE ZOLGE started as a hard punk band. Released a lot of CDs and vinyl of himself as well as of the band. Influenced various bands with his charismatic character and it is not difficult to find his followers in today's Japanese music scene.
THE ZOLGE had stayed New York for a series of gigs at clubs like CBGB's from the end of 1988 (at this time it was quite unusual for Japanese indie bands to play overseas). Haruhiko Ash remained in N.Y a few months after rest of the band left and deepened friendship with the late Stiv Bator (ex Dead Boys,The Lords of the New Church) who was already an acquaintance. Since then he has built relations both officially and privately with many bands (the Damned,Patricia Morrison,Hanoi Rocks,the Cramps,Ramones,Johnny Thunders, Switchblade Symphony, Razed in Black,etc .) as well as Stiv Bator and his wife Caroline.
EVE OF DESTINY had the first show at "8. Wave Gotik Treffen 1999" in Leipzig, Germany in May, 1999.(Other performers of the same stage were the Creatures, Sex Gang Children, Eva.O, etc.) EVE OF DESTINY got evaluation from the audiences and the press.
April,2002, EVE OF DESTINY Performed as the main act at "THE EASTERN GOTH VALLEY 2002" in Manila,The Philippines.It's the first international gothic/dark wave event in Asia which was held by SUBKULTURE (The Philippines) and club EVE THE NEW CHURCH (Haruhiko Ash's organization in Tokyo, since 1997).
Közi has belonged as a guitarist since 2002.
Then, in May 2002, EVE OF DESTINY Performed at "11. Wave Gotik Treffen 2002" in Leipzig,Germany again. (w/the Mission, 18 summers, the Cruxshadows, the Fall, Mortiis, House of Usher.
End of October 2002, they Participated in "the Darkness Gatherin festival" which is the third annual South Pacific/Oceania Festival for Dark/Underground culture.
EVE OF DESTINY acted the main act and they gave the big impression at the festival and obtained many more new audiences.
The 1st of November, just one week after "the Darkness Gatherin festival" ,they appeared onto the Sanctuary (gothic community in Switzerland) Halloween party in Bern, Switzerland.
Fans came from various parts of Europe, and their show was the great success. Moreover Eve of Destiny brought mobilization record of the Sanctuary party.
And,then,they appeared at "Castle Party Festival" in Poland which is the biggest dark Independent festival of middle/east Europe.With huge audiences who longed for EVE OF DESTINY. They showed their existence,under the burning sun.(w/Diary Dreams, Fading Colors, Garden of Delight, L'ame Immortelle, Terminal Choice, Umbra et Imago, etc.).
Over the summer, Eve of Destiny participated in "Gothic Autumn Nights III" in Rostock, Germany in the early autumn. (w/ Garden of Delight, Breath of Life, Whispers in the Shadow, Kamikaze 52, Qntal, SITD, Resurrection Eve, etc.).
And Halloween 2003,They held "The Oceania-Tour 03" in Australia and New Zealand. They performed shows in Melbourne, Sydney, and Wellington with local bands.
Those their activities of 2003 were taken up with some magazines; ASTAN (DE), ZILLO (DE), OFF (PL), Fiend (AU), and so on. Their songs have also been included on many compilation albums. Some of these include Castle Party and Wave Gotik Treffen albums.
