Fresh off the success of the widely popular iPod Nano commercial (Steve Jobs hand picked the contagiously funky mid-tempo "Gimme That", which has been dominating the electronic charts on iTunes since its release), The Resource has been establishing themselves as Brooklyn's most innovative and prolific producers. The unique teaming of producer/engineer DJ Sae One and guitarist/producer Mr. Ling has proven to be a successful one resulting in an impressive string of advertising campaigns for clients like Nike, Pepsi, Sprite, Mercedes, and most notably, Apple to name a few, as well as writing and producing credits for artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Jean Grae, Cee Knowledge (Digable Planets), Saigon, and The Last Emperor.
The multitalented DJ Sae One has worked as an engineer for years with artists such as Sly and Robbie, Amel Larrieux, Miri Ben Ari and Gogol Bordello. Now as a programmer and Macintosh thrasher, with musical tastes as broad as his skills, Sae One seamlessly blends the sensibilities of many genres from hip hop to rock, metal to electro, and house to reggae. He is a tireless creative force who brings a unique vision to everything he touches. His influences include Timbaland, Dj Krome and Mr. Time, Slayer, Rick Rubin and Stevie Wonder.
Adam Podrat (aka Mr. Ling) is a self taught guitarist/ producer with an equally diverse range. He has recorded everything from country western spoken word to ambient film scores and everything in between. He learned much of his craft while working with NYC based composer Gary Pozner (Tom Tom Club). Mr. Ling strives to evoke a sense of depth and timelessness in the music he creates while fearlessly breaking thru music industry boundaries. His influences include everyone from Johnny Cash to Zero Seven.
The Resource is currently hard at work on a number of projects including the highly anticipated Deaf in the Family follow up record base on on of the greatest bands of all time (no, not Whitesnake), and a brand new EP with singer Jamie Leonhart. In true Resource fashion, these projects blend styles far and wide to bring music listeners something they’ve been missing...actual songs without borders.
The Resources’ main goal is to help fix the broken art of music by bringing back musicianship and songwriting combined with modern science to create a new sound for everyone.
