K.T. Of Smilez Down Ent Performs At The Red Apple!
Layout by CoolChaserKT was born in Chicago and raised in East Memphis. Music has always been apart of his life. He started rapping in 1992 after hearing artsist such as the Geto Boys and Snoop n Dre. It wasn't until 1996 when he decided to start writing rhymes and freestyling with friends at school. In 1998, KT started to write lyrics that had less cursing in it, due to the fact that his mother would throw his lyrics away. It broadened his horizon think outside the box and made his songs more creative and introspective. KT always had a producer's mind and this was displayed when he and mutual friends would record freestyles to tape from his stereo, directing the flow as the songs progressed. In 2002, KT recorded his first studio song entitled "That's How We Do It". In 2004 in New Orleans, KT linked up wit Houston producer G.P. of Mo Midi Music Group to record his first album "TK Reversed". In 2006, KT enrolled into SAE Intstitute of Technology in Nashville where he began his study as an engineer and began recording his second album, "TK Re-Reversed". Upon graduation, and with new found techniques of recording along with a new studio of his own, KT made his label official, and in 2007 Smiles Down Ent. LLC was born. Around the same time KT was finishing up "The Sampleur Mixtape" as well as producing Mac Sleepy's "Gutta Muzik" and Yung Tee's "Out Da Gate Mixtape". All the while KT never stopped recording and producing music and even with a full plate, he began working on his third album, "Album of Life". KT has over a hundred songs and has worked with many artists from L.A. to VA and everywhere in between. His dedication to his craft is uncompromising. He is currently putting the finishing touches on his "Album of Life" LP and is working on his mixtape which is currently untitled. KT is also wrapping up the production and engineering of Yung Tee's "Tattoz N ProToolz Mixtape" as well as recording and engineering Mac Sleepy's second album entitled, "It Iz Wat It Iz". KT is a threat in many ways, whether he's writing, rapping, performing, recording, mixing, producing or arranging, he's most certainly on top of his game.Studio TIme
