About Me

Mark Turner is a singer/songwriter from Melbourne, Australia. Mark was born in chicago, Illinois, USA in 1971. At age 13 he moved to Australia with his parents in 1983, and has remained ever since. Mark has been playing around the Melbourne music scene since 1991. His first band, ECLIPSE, was an original hard rock band led by brothers Adam and Darren Roach. After that, Mark and Adam Roach formed a duo- JUST THE 2 OF US. They went on to perform an original song on NEW FACES which won them the encouragement award(and some choice luggage!!) They also appeared on the revamped POT OF GOLD playing another original song and winning the show!!Throughout the 90's Mark played in several cover bands including; BLOCKBUSTER(70's tribute),PRIOR CONVICTION, HAWKLORDS(a Hawkwind tribute band), ADRENALINE JUNKIES, and MR. BLUEZ. In his time with MR. BLUEZ they recorded 1 live album(Live At The St. Andrews Hotel) and a studio album(Time For A Change). They also appeared at The Melbourne International Festival Of Music and Blues, and The Broadbeach Blues Festival.Since then Mark has sung for Chicago blues band HOWLIN' TIME and more recently started his own band, THE MARK TURNER BAND. He is currently writing songs for a new studio album that will hopefully be recorded in the near future...
