Senator Bear

About Me

London-based indie rock band, delivering hefty melodic tunes with slices of punk, art rock and spooky oddness.

Live review in City AM, 5th June 2006
Senator Bear is a thrilling new four-piece whose punk/poptunes may be rattling the roof of a pub near you before long. Since their formation last year, they've put in appearances at venues such as The Borderline and The Garage.

So it was only a matter of time before Senator Bear's exuberant sound reverberated around Kentish Town's dingy, filth-encrusted (but all in the right spirit) pub, the Bull & Gate surely a must-play venue for any new band.

Their wired tunes boast lashings of 1970s punk, shot through with a 1990s indie ideology, and in front of an enthusiastic audience, they belted out catchy rock'n'roll bass lines overlaid with spiky guitar parts. The evening's highlight had to be the infectiously stomping beats and growling guitars in Fall Apart.
