I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I was born and raised in cold Scandinavian country. My dad had several jobs and business endeavors during his life. He owned three movie theatres in 50's (before I was born), and acted as an agent for an artist. He was an ambitious man, and dedicated to pass that ambition to us. While on it, he also managed to kill the blooming talent I had for music at early age. When I was only three years old, he bought me a violin. I understood it was a perfect tool for anger management, and crashed it into my brother's head. While he was rushed to a hospital with a concussion, I realized my future career as a great violinist was over. My parents did not give up, but provided me with a lighter, and less dangerous tool. This was a member of wind instruments. With a new toy, I was shoveled into a music play school, when I turned six. The only thing I learned there was, that I did not like to read music. I could listen to a song, and play it quite easy by ear without trying to interpret black dots in the paper. I therefore left the performance part for other great talents. My ex was one of them. He was incredible guitarist, but his passion for drinking took over his gift. When I was a grown up, I become a Customs Broker for a Forwarding agent. They were an agent for Rock-it cargo, a company that handles solely entertainment. I performed customs clearance, and transportation arrangements for gear as well as merchandise for big concerts. Got lots of free tickets and backstage passes for me and my friends. Some concerts I will remember forever. ZZ Top---after 3am phone rings, and their tour manager informs paperwork has gone lost. Good grief!!!! I spent three months clearing the matter. But all is well when end is well. Those times I had a change to work closely together with a Finnish promoter Showco, and Tumppi Haaranen. He is a great guy. He was later part of Welldone Oy, that now is Live Nation.Early nineties I decided to move to Canada. I volunteered at many festivals, and also got a change to be part of festival steering committee through my school. I arranged two bands to that community festival. One of them was “Bloomsday”, who later had a fairly often played song at CFOX. They also had a gig with Nickelback, and Bif Naked. In addition to that I helped my neighbors band “Bunco” by connecting them with my friend. She hired them to play at their gallery opening. “Art of Steel” gallery in Main street opening was a big success. Many film production clients that attended ordered their products from them. I helped my friend to put that big party together. In the meanwhile, I worked as an Assistant Manager at Regional office for Canadian Feed the Children. Apart from leading a charity fundraising team, I organized wild staff parties. Dancing in the office roof along Broadway was not unheard of.After my work visa expired, I moved myself to England. There I become a Residential Social worker. My main task was to prevent teens with 'behaviour difficulties' from destroying the planet. I learned that it was way cheaper to call couple of these teens to do any demolition job. They can do it way faster and more efficiently than any other demolition team. I also volunteered at Glastonbury festival, which was a good experience. That one is HUGE.When I finally returned to Canada as a fresh immigrant, I decided to pursue a career in entertainment. I attended couple schools to learn technical skills, and become a Stagehand. I have worked at GM place, Commodore, Deer Lake park concerts among others. Some great festivals too such as Virgin Festival, and Vans Warped tour, and Pemberton Festival. My next big career step would be to learn the ropes to organize concerts. The big dream is to create a festival when I am ready.......One day....
