About Me

Kenny has always loved music, and was involved at an early age with the chorus and band music programs in elementary school. He began teaching himself guitar at the age of 15, and very soon after began penning his own tunes.By the age of 16 Kenny was already gaining exposure and developing his style playing at summer camp campfire stages and was featured in Tent Campfires at the 1981 National Boy Scout Jamboree in AP Hill Va.In 1990 He came to New York with a handful of original songs, and began going to the legendary Speakeasy club on MacDougal St in Greenwich Village, where the folk scene had once flourished in the 1980s, and launched careers the likes of Shawn Colvin, Steve Forbert and Suzanne Vega. After a great opening show in October of 1990,Kenny gigged regularly at The Speakeasy until its close in 1993. Soon after Kenny found himself a few blocks over at The Duplex Cabaret at Sheridan Square, where he was in a year long Stars of Tomorrow talent search sponsored by the club. He eventually became a finalist. His last home was over on Ave Cs The C Note where he was happy to finally get some Saturday evening shows. For the last few years Kenny has taken some time to reevaluate things, and grow in a new relationship and new home.Kenny has come back to the music scene with successful shows at Kennys Castaways July 11th, and the New York Culture Center Culture Departments Concert Series on August 14th.
