Storming into the club scene in 2005, Effen has firmly established himself as one of the fastest rising talents in Singapore. A fiercely determined individual, he has been featured in the main room of some of the top clubs in his home turf, such as Zouk, Liquid Room, Onyx, DXO and most recently, The Ministry Of Sound.
All within a short span of 2 years.
Having held previous residencies in DXO and QBar has enabled him to adapt to various concepts of the nightlife industry with ease. Effen now holds fort at Fashion Bar at The Cannery, where he is constantly expanding his ability to weave the different genres of the 4/4, from the psychotic glitches of minimal to the infectious groove of electro.
In the main room, however, you will get a totally different picture. Notorious for tearing dancefloors apart with his main room sets, Effen easily weaves seamlessly the sounds of progressive trance, tech-trance and percussive techno, all into one cutting edge, mind-bending, sonic mayhem.
On the production end, Effen's releases have found their way onto US-based Ascension Records with his track "Invidia" and his remix of "Fakiu" by Mexico's The Midnight Perverts. "Invidia" was given the thumbs-up by US 1 DJ
Christopher Lawrence himself, and has received support from other DJs worldwide, including a very positive review on Progressive Sounds Online. He was featured in Malaysia's Junk Magazine in August 2007, and has contributed
his unreleased single "Chapter 13" to the magazine's covermount Cd.
For 2007, Effen will be starting a record label called ‘Putera Recordings’ with Indonesian producer Altuna, which will be showcasing their productions and some of the upcoming producers in this region. Putera Recordings recently became a sub label of one of the biggest progressive trance record label, Bonzai Music.
