Television:

If I had all the time in the world, this is what I would watch: M*A*S*H; Law & Order SVU; Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip; The Office; ER; Frasier; Friends; The West Wing; Family Guy; CNN; The Golden Girls (shut up- they're funny); Scrubs; Cops (hands down THEE funniest show ever produced!); any surgery show on TLC; most things on the Discovery Channel, especially things that show really weird looking animals that crawled the earth billions of years ago; Dateline NBC; The Daily Show; The Colbert Report

Books:

Some favorites include (but are not limited to) The Synopsis of Psychology, The Bell Jar, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, Flowers for Algernon, Sammy's Hill, Crime and Punishment, The Color Purple, The Giver, Beloved, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby, Behind the Scenes at the Museum (no one has ever heard of it, but it's very good), Like Water for Chocolate, The DSM-IV, and Hippos Go Berserk :)

Heroes:

My grandfather- the coolest man EVER!!! I miss him dearly. My older sister, Rebecca. I run all of my races in her honor, and every time I get a cramp or knee pain and want to quit, I think of how much she suffered during her illness and it makes me keep going. I will always love and miss her. And my cousin Meredith. She ran SEVEN marathons before she was killed by lightning six years ago. I think of her towards the end of a run and ask her to give me the power to finish strong, like she always did. And while I wouldn't call any of the people in my "I'd Like to Meet" list "heroes," I certainly admire them all.

The slowest half-marathon EVER!!!

What I’ll miss. And what I won’t.

I'm sitting here in my empty house, waiting for the carpet cleaner to show up and ruminating on what I will (and will not) miss about the Great State of Alaska.  I have spent three years her...

Devastation

My doctor and I had been having some concerns about my pregnancy, so he had me come in for an ultrasound last Tuesday.  He was unable to see anything other than my uterus and the gestational sac,...

A few days before Christmas, Michael was informed that he needed to be in Iraq on April 30th.  The plan was for him to travel to Ft. Bragg in South Carolina somewhere around the middle of Ma...
