1/11/07 Happy New Year Everyone!
I hope 2006 was just as amazing for you as for me! There is a sweet party happening tomorrow that I will be DJing at. We're handing out mix CDs compiled from the three DJs playing for only free 99. If you want to get my contribution you can download it here:
Skeeth's H.O.S.pital Mix
It's a quick 19 minutes and mixes songs of similar tempos. Stuff from the south, classic hip hop samples, James Brown, R&b and explosions and lazers. Listen to it and let me know what you think.
I posted a mix I did for my friends at the HOSpital dance party. It's fun. Nice and to the point. And did I mention FREE! Fun stuff everybody go there now!
12/9/06 Hey yo. I've got a few photos up that you'll enjoy if you're like me. The Hermano Haus went out for our Second Annual Hermano Haus family gathering/photo shoot. Our new CD will be out late spring, so be on the lookout. It was a blast and a half at our new favorite studio. We hit Claim Jumper after that and it completely made up for my first depressing experince. Charle kept his run going and has now been 4 out of 4 for getting sick after CJ. The best night I've had in a real long cat. I'll be at Kaz-ba tonight. Come by! It will be the best EVAR!

11/6/06 TONIGHT IS MOPED MONDAY! MARS BAR 8:00!If you like the smell of gas and dudes and ladies that smell like gas come by and eat some astronachos at the Mars Bar with the Mosquito Fleet !
11/05/06 If only I could do life part time. Actually, what I mean is I want to do life full time and work part time. That would be grand. So much of my time is away from people I care about and in cold bleak buildings to make the money life in America requires (or does it?).
Other thoughts - I spent the weekend longing that the people around me would be aware enough to choose life. What would it take to come out of the pattern and habits of unexamined actions and life saying this is what I've always done? Maybe more accurately, "this is how I've always seen myself," or I am who people have always told me I am. I am thinking about dedicating my life to learning and running non-profits because there are not enough offerings and so many people need to be loved that never were.
10/25/06 WHOA! QUICK LAST MINUTE UPDATE!
THIS SATURDAY I WILL DJ AT THE KAZBA! Doors are at 7:00 and the zombies start at 7:30 with me following. Check Kaz-ba for more info. All Ages/Always Free!
I have zombies opening the show in the form of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD! I've always wanted that. Is it just me or are Borg, Terminators, and Zombies the scariest things ever? So come out for fun times and hot jams. I'm playing "Thriller" at least twice along with other rock/electro/dance, and hip hop. I'll try to throw a set of punk for good measure. Quick quiz suckers: Who wrote "Halloween" and "Halloween II"? I'll give you a free cd if you tell me the answer at the Kaz-ba this Sat.
10/23/06 Ha ha! I have finally started to get this jammy working. So leave comments and I’ll get them! The friend pics are finally going to get posted and linked correctly too. Maybe it’ll be you!
I’m super excited to have started hanging with all the super cool people at the Kaz -ba . I hope to see your faces more often and get to know you. I’m friendly so don’t be scurred.
I’m working on a new mix tape I hope you all will be into. It’s going to be all punk and new music mixed seamlessly and in tune. I also hope it to be kind of a document of the evolution of the music from punk to emo and then current hardcore. Don’t gag! It’s going to be crazy. I’m especially looking forward to cutting and pasting five minutes of breakdowns into one track. EPIC! I have to bounce for now. ADD ME!
9/27/06 Time to update the info! NEW PARTY DATE: This Friday; House of Sin; 9 pm-2 am DJ Skeeth, Aaron Nesbit, Kid Kalamity!
8/8/06 Blood Drive IV has come and gone. Props to all the mopedders that trekked across states to join the Mosquito Fleet in Seattle. The report for the event as a whole was fun all around. Saturday's party was good times for sho. I recorded a live mix of songs that are blowing my mind as of late and I post it for you here:
DJ SKEETH as CUTTY McHEATROCK - BLOOD DRIVE IV
If it pulls open the yousendit window and says to sign in you'll have to do it. Even if it means opening an account. I know, I know, you'd be joining the "machine" and big brother and all that, but if you don't it's no mix for you. To the music. It's got a fun vibe going on with new Hyphy-ish songs (I'm not sure if that Will.i.am beat counts, hot though) and some club and then all rocky/electro songs that dirty kids love. Let me know what you think. Also check out H.O.S.PITAL for that new new (and some old) sound. Get the info for future moped partys here and there. Till next time.5/5/06 Ok, so I decided to make a new myspace account even though I was starting the trend of getting off myspace, but anyway here is what's real with me. I was raised in Iowa, but have been in Seattle and loving it for the last year and a half. My life is pretty simple right now. I'm just living it and enjoying the times.
I've been DJing for four years now and got my start playing breaks on battle and funk records for a live band. That is a situation that gets your beat matching skills sharp real quick like. I play first Mondays at the Mars Bar under I5 for the local branch of the Moped Army the Mosquito Fleet. Classic soul, funk, 80s R&B, and other randomness are the menu along with all the other tasty treats you can actually eat.
I also play three Sunday evenings a month at Mars Hill Church in Ballard. If you get your head nodding while chatting up people between services give a look up to the stage and acknowledge the sweet songs of DJ Skeeth. Here I play ambient, downtempo, broken beat and deep house, and instrumental hip hop. 5 and 7 o'clock. Be there!
My next event-type gig is happening on June 13th in downtown Seattle. Swing by VAIN at 9:00 to watch 80's dance duo Fankick perform and then mingle with the Rat City Roller Girls. I'm DJing and DJ Teenage Rampage will be on hand also. The jams will abound.
I'll try and get the friends pictures working soon, but you can look at all of 'em by clicking on the link "friends".
