HetKees

About Me

HetKees from Schiedam Holland plays loud and raw music.

The band was formed about a decade ago, when men were still men and women agreed to this. Or was it the other way around...?

Whatever.

HetKees (in Dutch pronounced as: Headcase) loves the sweet tunes made famous by Motörhead, the Ramones and Slaughterhouse Five, just to mention some influences of the band.

The band performs on a 50/50 basis their own songs and songs written by others.

HetKees produced one regular album: HetKees, but there are lots of their tunes recorded on CDR, like the song you are listening to as we speak.

HetKees likes to say thanx to Sylvia Kemna for Kees-pics made at the Slachthuis festival and making the fab Tube-Kees movies, to Franklin Bergman for producing the HetKees songs 'Keep Running' and 'Blitzkrieg Bop' and, last but not least, Jan van Velzen for writing and Sven Lens for recording 'Life is Great'.

Sounds Like: Iggy, dreaming he is Joey, dreaming he is Lemmy, forming a band overnight and performing some twenty odd songs, without rehearsing at all and all this after drinking a barrel of beer, or no beer at all, whatever sounds worse.

In this story HetKees could be the supporting act, giving Iggy a headache, the moment Joey wakes up, discovering he can't get this HetKees song out of his head...

Get it?

Listen to the music! That's what HetKees sounds like!

HetKees

As the Ramones sung: Sheena is a punkrocker, Judy is a punk and Heidi is a headcase. 'Case' in Dutch has the same sound as : 'Kees', and that's a boy's name, as common as Bob in English. It's als...
