Uhs

Hailing from Japan, Uhs received the baptism of hip-hop culture during his early high school years. Taking up digging and DJing at a tender age, he soon became devoted to underground hip-hop and the break beat scene.
After purchasing an MPC and starting to focus on his own production, Uhs also started his own night "soak", in downtown Tokyo. Distributing free promo CDs on the street, record stores and in clubs soon saw the night's popularity rapidly grow with the mixed cd becoming the most sought after compilation amongst Tokyo’s elite beat heads.
Drawing musical influences from the likes of Dj Krush, Dj Shadow and Dj Cam, Uhs has developed an extremely soulful yet organic sound. Rich melodies laced with soulful beats sees this maestro as a serious hip-hop contender. Currently running "realDope recordings", Uhs has a firm knowledge and understanding of what’s needed in today's music scene, gracing us with a fresh and nostalgic sound that will forever stand the test of time.
