Hmm. Here I should probably list something nice I like to do, like sitting home, alone in a dark closet, taking care of my bruises I have gotten from slicing my wrists. Ahahaha. Anyway, I play guitar, piano, saxophone, bass, flute, my mouth... In a band I only play guitar and my mouth, but maybe that will change some day when I try to do all of those at the same time. Darkness will prevail!
I don't like MTV. Period. That means, I listen to all kinds of metal, proge, rock, pop etc, but the arch-mainstream stuff I leave for someone else. I'll list you a couple of bands and continue the list as new bands pop up and spark my interest. Have some of this:
And One
A Perfect Circle
Apocalyptica
Audioslave
Björk
Blind Guardian
Cause for Effect
Dave Matthew's

Dark Suns
Dark Tranquility
(Any other interesting bands beginning with "Dark"?)

I perform the attempt of not listing any particular films, but directors, as that gives me a faster way to give you an idea of what I like. So,
Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu
Hayao Miyazaki
Darren Aronofsky
David Cronenberg
Paul Thomas Andersson
Peter Jackson
Lars von Trier
David Lynch
the Coen brothers
Sophia Coppola
Federico Fellini
Quentin Tarantino
Paolo Pasolini
... well, ok, that seems to be a bit hard for me. Films it is, then:
The Machinist
The Proposition
the 1st Matrix (the sequels suck)
Broken Flowers
Being John Malkovich
Sideways
5th Element
Descent
7
Sin City
The Grindhouse project
... egh. Whatever. The problem again is that I've seen quite a few films. But you know, I am this wannabe-critic guy who hates romantic comedies, because they don't "have any deeper meaning" and they "don't reflect on the increasing nausea the humankind is feeling". ahaha. Make it dark and weird and I'll be your fan.
Neil Gaiman, Vladimir Nabukov, Douglas Adams, George R.R. Martin, Iain M. Banks, Dan Simmons, Irvine Welsh. Hmm, I have read also loads of David Eddings, Robert Jordan, R.A. Salvatore, but lately I haven't felt like reading fantasy literature about Crak'o'Djen riding a black steed into the sunset with a gleaming sword of Flame and Destruction in his hand and The Gem of Tedious Repentance in the other. I think you know what I mean. The same goes for scifi. I mean, I know too many things you can do in zero-gravity already.
