"Toujours debout, toujours rebelle" chante-t-il dans le refrain du morceau REBELLE. Comme un hymne à l'obstination, Yannick BERNARD n'en finit pas d'user les planches et de partager son envie de jouer avec les groupes les plus divers.
Né à Nantes, son père décédé peu après sa naissance, il grandit avec sa mère et ses deux frères. Ces derniers lui firent découvrir les groupes phares du début des années 70. Le virus fut irrémédiablement inoculé. Il reçut sa première guitare à l'âge de 15 ans.
Après ses études, Yannick s'installa à Strasbourg. Il créa plusieurs groupes, d’abord comme guitariste puis comme batteur. Mais un jour, il décida de sortir un album avec les titres qu’il composait depuis des années. Il se consacra au chant et à la guitare avant de s’entourer de musiciens pour affronter un nouveau défi : la scène avec le costume de chanteur-guitariste.
Fervent défenseur de la musique Pop-Rock à la française, c’est naturellement dans la langue de Molière que Yannick BERNARD s’exprime. Ses titres sont qualifiés de « chansons à texte » par la critique et par le public. Inspirées par notre société et ses travers, mais aussi par son histoire personnelle, ses chansons touchent tous les publics.
Sa musique fait la part belle aux beaux sons de guitare, à l’orgue Hammond, au Mellotron et autres synthétiseurs analogiques. Sans se soucier du moindre critère commercial ou de mode, Yannick compose sa musique comme il la ressent, sans calcul et sans complexe, instrument après instrument, à la manière d’un compositeur de musique classique. Une musique qui se veux personnelle, originale, aux antipodes des canons actuels. Et c’est pourtant sa meilleure arme pour partir à la conquête de son public, celui des 15 à 60 ans, avides d’un son nouveau ou nostalgiques d’une période où tout fut inventé. Toujours debout et toujours rebelle !

« Always upright, always rebel » sings he in the refrain of the song « REBELLE ». Like an anthem with obstinacy, Yannick BERNARD does not finish any using the stages and sharing his desire for playing with the most various bands.
Born at Nantes, his father deceased after his birth, he grows up with his mother and his two brothers. His brothers made him discover the rock’n roll stars of the beginning of the Seventies. The virus was irremediably inoculated. His mother offer him his first guitar at the age of 15.
After his studies, Yannick settled in Strasbourg. He created several bands, initially as guitarist next like drummer. But one day, he decided to record an album with the titles which he had composed since of the years. He devoted himself to the song and the guitar before to be surrounded with musicians to face a new challenge: the stage with the costume of singer-guitarist.
Fervent defender of the french Pop-Rock music, it is naturally in the language of Molière that Yannick BERNARD sing. His titles are qualified of« songs with text » by the critic and the public. Inspired by the world and its failings, but also by its personal history, his songs touch all the public ones.
His music makes the beautiful share with the beautiful sounds of guitar, the Hammond organ, Mellotron and other analog synthetizers. Without being concerned about the least commercial criterion or fashion, Yannick composes its music as he feels it, without calculation and complex, instrument after instrument, with the manner of a classical music composer. A music which want to be personal, original, in the antipodes of the fashion. And it is however his best weapon to go to the conquest of his public, those from 15 to 60 years old, avid of a new sound or nostalgic of a period when all was invented.
