About Me
Well i’m a Magician and Childrens entertainer from South East London and have the unenviable job of having to put a 1000 smiles on a thousand faces of the children of London and beyond. I’ve actually been an entertainer forr 22 years though much of that time has been spent with a street theatre troop The Cosmic Sausages’ who travelled the streets and festivals of Europe bringing their very own brand of music and humour to the masses.
The Professor Palmermoff Magic show was born in 1997 and inspired as much as anything by entertaining my own Children and their friends who soon started showering me with bookings, well their parents did.
The show consists of a whole array of magic tricks and illusions and is dressed up with my very own brand of comedy and fun, its not incredibly twee and the adults enjoy the show every bit as much as the kids, quite possibly more so.
Typically the show consists of the disappearing handkerchief (always a winner), the flowers from nowhere (always a stunner), the floating bottle (everyone likes a floating bottle), the Hypnotic rope (deep, deep deep hypnotic trance required!), The amazing appearing and disappearing water routine (always handy on a hot day), the Pen through the leg (not for the sqeemish), the Magic colouring book (popular with the littleun’s), The 3 card trick (a chance for me to show of my stunning Card sleights), a beautiful coin routine (theirs nothing like a trick with real money), the Multiplying bottles ( a Tommy Cooper classic), a bit of balloon modelling (my motorbike is a bit of a classic!), the Card on the Ceiling (its always good to add a few archectual features to a buliding!), a fancy Diabolo routine ( a chance to show off my street theatre skills), The Cups and Balls (its only polite to do a bit of classic conjouring), The incredible Milk illusion (a personal favourite),a beutiful deluxe cut and restored rope routine (my ‘Piece de resistance’) and as a finale i do love producing my Humungous card Castle though you always know what the kids would like to do with it. I do tailor my show to the age and size of an audience and anyone can enjoy it from the age of 4 to 104. In fact the old ones are great as they can hardly see anyway which makes producing an Elephant from behind the Curtain a lot easier.
The show involves audience participation, is as charming and amusing as i can possibly muster and is almost 100% guaranteed to produce both laughter and dazzled faces.
I have performed my show at numerous Children’s Birthday parties but also at Christenings, Weddings, Barmitzvah,s, Festivals, Fete’s. Sports Day’s, Fun Day’s, Corporate events, Schools, Church Cabaret’s, Cafe’s, Pub Garden’s, The Lord Mayor’s show is a regular and all manner of events big and small. I performed at Musician “Stings’ son’s Birthday party and am a regular at events like The Queille Festival, The Bath Fringe Festival, The Hope Festival, The Glastonbury Festival and of course the Brockley Max Festival.
I have performed in Europe and can perform in French and Italian as well as English though i’m not sure whether they are laughing at the accent or the gags half the time.
I still perform with ‘The Cosmic Sausages†(www.cosmicsausages.com) and i can Play Jazz and Boogie woogie piano as well which is incredibly handy for a bit of Boogie Woogie pass the parcel but i can be seen in a Jazz and BoogieWoogie Trio called ‘Professor Nohair and the Wiglifters’ (www.profnohair.com)as well.
