Low Risers

About Me

We've been together for a while now, offering the finest in high-end ramshackle-professionalism and always guarantee fresh sounds delivered directly to your ear-hole; a fusion of many different styles that mingle amongst the songs like an army of dancing ants intent on moving your booty.
We especially enjoy collaborating on events with other artists and playing unusual venues and places: inside, outside; day or night. We have enough original tunes to get you, and keep you, up and moving, occasionally throwing in the odd re-fried cover version in our own inimitable style.

Low Risers' everchanging line-up has finally settled on:
Kamey McNamara-- Lead vocals, lyric writer and melodica player. Leads the band from the front with bags of energy and the sort of dance moves you wish you had.
Stu Baggaley-- Grooves groovily on the guitar to keep the steady rhythms infectious. Rock-steady with the kind of dance moves you're glad he has.
Mike Cloud-- Lays down those heavy, underpinning B-lines that hold the whole thing together. Has the sort of dance moves they don't make anymore.
Dan Seddon-- Drives the band on with a plethora of percussive rhythms and exotic sounds. Has the sort of dance moves that makes you glad he's sat down.

Sounds Like: Here's a bit of press and a map of our progress during 2010's 'Never-Ending Tour' tour:
"...upstairs in the live room the mellow sound of LOWRISERS who do a sort of lo-fi jazzy and mostly acoustic thing. Their rather slight female singer has a wonderfully rich and soulful voice, there's bongos and a melodica, and they feel like the sort of loose doing-it-for-fun band you catch at a festival and end up dancing to with people with dreadlocks. And their set-ending hippy groove take on The Beastie Boys' "Fight For Your Right To Party" is a surprising triumph." - Manchester Music Online. 'Friends of Manchester Festival 09'.
"This band has so much potential. I love their stuff!" - Mike George, DJ, Wythenshawe FM
"Sounds like everything and nothing you have ever heard before" - Miles (Mike's mate).
We play both types of music: Loud and Quiet! We are currently experimenting with a more acoustic line-up of Lead Vocal, Guitar, Bass, Percussion based round a cahon and bongos; all backed up by four-part harmonies and a lovely lead vocal - you will also hear other noises appear such as the mighty melodica.
Many styles fuse together with a heavy undertone of Reggae, Funk and Folk... but if you can suggest what we sound like, then please let us know!
