In 2006 I released an album called 'Thinking of You' under my own name. It is a slow acoustic cd and after that one I decided to make more experimental songs under the name of 'Grand Disaster'. The first Grand Disaster E.P was released in Spring 2008 called 'Down At The Waterhouse' and was a collection of Americana Songs. Later in 2008 the Second E.P called 'Lost In A Weird Place' was released and features the songs 'Leave' and 'You And I'. Everything is recorded, produced and designed by myself with a lot of help from my brother David and my good friend Steve Chisholm. I have also written a number of short stories that have been championed by the likes of 'Willy Vlautin' (Author of The Motel Life, Northline and lead singer of my favourite band Richmond Fontaine). After I e-mailed him my short story 'Blinding Sight' his reply was 'Im honoured you used the song Blinding Sight in it, shit what a heartbreaker'. That was amazing coming from the master of heartbreak himself. As you can see from my pics section another great band from the US, Marah are really into the Grand Disaster and declare there love for us by writing it on a vinyl cover!!!!!! An offer to tour with an up and coming Australian artist may be on the cards in 2010 but in our minds thats miles away. Grand Disaster have never played live and remain in the depths of the underground but who knows what the future holds. As soon as I get my hands on a piano its gonna be mayhem!!!!! Beautiful Mayhem!!!!!! Don't keep listening to all the rubbish thats out there, embrace independent music and JOIN THE CULT.
