I have a desire for a unique identity that sets me apart from others. I may be introverted sometimes. I may seem aloof and mysterious, or may cultivate a delicate, ethereal persona. Or Extroverted, I may cultivate a dramatic appearance (e.g. with hair color, clothing, or henna). In short, baliw ako. I know how to be extremely kind (especially to those in crisis), but also know how to rile people up. I get in deep trouble, which increases my despair, leads to more reckless activity, triggering a downward spiral into more unhealthy behavior. O di ba, isang role model. I may take pride in what is unique or defectively unusual. I grow competitive and spiteful. I could be so moody or hypersensitive while beginning to act exempt from everyday rules. Buoyed by my sense of defective specialness (as in special child), I might give myself permission to act badly. I am driven by a self-image that is romantically tragic but also elitist.
