About Me

Shawn P. Lytle was born and raised in Columbia, S.C. He graduated from Richland Northeast High School in 1989.While attending his freshman year at Florida State University, peer pressure and bad choices led him into a world of criminal activity for which he was suspended.After a few years of run-ins with the law, including some jail time in Atlanta, he did some deep soul searching and found a new motivation in his life writing.Upon his release from jail, he reapplied and was accepted back at Florida State where he went on to complete his Bachelor of Arts program graduating with a degree in English.He started One Way Out Entertainment, an artists management and publishing company in 1998.He completed and published his first anthology of poems and short stories, Twisted Dreams in January, 1999.His second book, Lost Souls was released in October, 1999. It contained a CD which featured Shawn and some of the artists he represents with urban contemporary cuts inspired by his writings.His third book, The Night Darkness Spoke was released In October, 2002. It's Shawn's most extensive book of poetry to date.Shawn is currently working on his first novel, which is slated for release on mid 2003.Shawn has recently set up the Shawn P. Lytle trust fund, a fund that will donate $1 for every book sold that will help an underprivileged child go to college.
