About Me

. Myspace Contact TablesHowdy! I am a life long Texan and grew up in Robinson. I met my husband in 1999 and we were married in 2002. I became and RN in 2005 and work in home health as a clinical coordinator. My husband decided he wanted to become an attorney so we moved to Fort Worth in 2007 and he just finished his first year of law school (top 25% and Dean's List!!!). We don't have kids, just two crazy dogs (Chase and Heidi) and two lazy cats (Miss Kitty and Sheba). I call myself boring which is just fine with me, I'm very laid back and my mission in life is to be happy and stress free! I'm happiest at home curled up on the couch with a book or cuddling with whichever animal is closest. When I get time I catch a concert or movie. Basically, I just want to be happy and we hope to do some traveling in the future (Scotland, New Zealand, Italy, Czech Republic, Figi, and many others). I have a few medical problems that I've been diagnosed with over the past 2 years that prohibit me from doing certain things (strenuous activity mostly). Nothing that's gonna kill me but very serious diseases all the same. I like to think it's made me a stronger person (and less of a whiner!). I should warn you though that my blog is often my means of venting about my "bad days" although I seldom post anything there. We are becoming members of St. Peter's Orthodox Christian Church this weekend and my faith has helped tremendously with my outlook on life. On a side note, please don't send me a friend request unless I have some sort of connection to you. !
You Are Flip Flops
You are laid back and very friendly.
Cheery and sunny in disposition, you usually have something to smile about.
Style is important to you, as long as you can stay casual.
It takes a lot to get you to dress up!
You are a loyal and true person, though you can be a bit of a flake.
You tend to "play hooky" and blow off responsibilities a lot more than most people.
You should live: By the beach
You should work: At a casual up and coming company What Kind of Shoe Are You?
You Are 68% Texas
Well, knock me down and steal muh teeth! You're pretty darn Texan. How Texas Are You?

My Interests

I love being with family and friends (especially my nephew Hayden!), animals, spa days (when I can afford them), days when I'm not in pain (few and far between), fall (the season), The Dallas Cowboys, The Texas Rangers and Houston Astros, watching tennis and soccer. Movies, especially anything with Johnny Depp, Matt Damon or Gael Garcia Bernal (gorgeous!). I also love traveling, sleeping in, thunderstorms, Christmas time, and just smiling! I have a thing for Winnie the Pooh and most other Disney related things. I really hate people who abuse animals and children, bad drivers, and narrow minded people.

I'd like to meet:

God, Jon Stewart, Conan O'Brien, other nurses, people with RA or PCOS, and animal lovers.

Music:

I have a pretty wide variety of tastes. Old country like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Don Williams, Hank (Jr and Sr), George Strait. Older Rock like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd. Other favs are Okkervil River, Trail of Dead, the Decemberists, The Shins, Built to Spill, Band of Horses, Interpol, Arcade Fire, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Motley Crue, and a lot of the old hair metal (usually specific songs more than actual bands). I detest most of "new country music" and if anyone would like to start an "I Hate Rascal Flatts" group, I'd be more than happy to join in. :)Just saw The Cure in concert this past weekend---by far one of the best shows I have ever been to!!!

Movies:

Favorites are Lord of the Rings, Gone With the Wind and Pride and Prejudice. I'm a chick flick gal but I also love Dazed and Confused, Spinal Tap, Office Space, and Field of Dreams. I've been watching classics and foreign films lately too. Anything with Johhny Depp, Gael Garcia Bernal or Cate Blancett. I love all things Disney, especially The Little Mermaid, Winnie the Pooh, and The Aristocats.

Television:

Current shows that I watch are Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. I'm starting to get into Army Wives and I'm also a sucker for those HGTV re-decorating and house hunting shows. I tend to watch a lot of re-runs like Seinfield and Gilmore Girls. I loved the now canceled series Deadwood (see my headline!). Other than that I catch baseball games, football games, tennis matches, and the occasional crime show (I like the First 48).

Books:

My favorites are Lord of the Rings and Gone With the Wind. I also like Jane Austen. Unfortunately, I've mainly been reading textbooks lately. We have shelves of books that belong to my husband that I plan to read if I ever get out of school.
