....Everybody is a soldier in the same on going war. Every soldier has a diary. Mine is no different from everyone else
As a child growing up in North Philadelphia I was intrigued at the sound of music. It felt like my life was wired to one big soundtrack. I felt like if there was anything I was called to do in life, it was music. Growing up as the son of a pastor I was always around gospel music. I was captivated by such artists as The Winans, Commissioned, and Fred Hammond. A down side to this was secular music was banned from the house. This really didnt mean a lot to me since I really didnt know anything about it at the time. ..When middle school came I was revealed to different artists such as DMX, Nas, Tupac, and Jay-Z. At that time I was attending a private school, Chestnut Hill Academy, at which it was hard to fit in socially and racially. Things didnt work out at this private school so I attended a public high school, Strawberry Mansion. I there started expressing my feelings through rebellion and writing. This whole part of my life was one big roller coaster ride between my parents, my friends, and my beliefs. After I graduated I was wrapped up in some legal issues, but God had a way out for me. Im now a college student and part of a ground breaking group, The Representatives. We give the gospel in the form of rap and r&b. We believe that everything that we do should be a reflection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, music and lifestyle.
